  • Publication number: 20220347826
Abstract: A flywheel (34) can be mounted on a flywheel carriage (88) that can include a pair of axles (90). The flywheel carriage can be movable along two pairs of guide slots (42) of the tool frame between a disengaged position in which the flywheel is spaced from the fastener driver (26), and an engaged position in which the flywheel is engaged with the fastener driver to drive the fastener driver along a driver axis. A pair of pinch rollers (50) can be coupled to the tool frame and can be engageable with a pinch roller side of the driver profile that is opposite the flywheel side. A plane aligned with an axis of rotation of the flywheel and oriented perpendicular to the driver axis can be located between an axis of rotation of each of the pair of pinch rollers throughout engagement of the flywheel with the fastener driver along the longitudinal flywheel engagement length.

  • Publication number: 20160121450
Abstract: A power tool may include a motor and a drive shaft having a first end coupled to the motor and a second end eccentrically coupled to a platen by a retainer bearing and eccentric sleeve. A counterweight component may be coupled to the second end of the drive shaft to counteract imbalance generated by rotation of the retainer bearing, eccentric sleeve and platen. The counterweight component may include a counterweight coupled to the second end of the drive shaft, between the eccentric sleeve and the platen. Alignment of the counterweight may be offset with respect to a centerline of the drive shaft to counteract vibration generated due to interaction of the platen with a workpiece. The counterweight component may also include a counterweight mass member coupled to a sector of the counterweight to counteract vibration generated due to interaction of the platen with a workpiece.

  • Patent number: 9283667
Abstract: A power tool that includes a housing, a motor, a trigger, a multi-speed transmission and a torque clutch. The housing define a handle. The motor is coupled to the housing. The trigger is coupled to the housing and configured to control operation of the motor. The multi-speed transmission is configured to transmit rotary power between the motor and the output spindle and includes a plurality of planetary stages with a first stage and a second stage that receives rotary power from the first stage. The first stage has a first internally toothed gear element and the second stage having a second internally toothed gear element. The torque clutch limits torque output from the multi-speed transmission to the output spindle. The torque clutch is configured to alternatively ground the second and third internally toothed gear elements to the housing based on a speed ratio setting of the multi-speed transmission.
