    Abstract: A linear driving system for LED with high power factor including a rectifying circuit receiving an AC voltage and generating a DC voltage to a power supply bus having a protection circuit coupled thereto. The protection circuit includes a detection unit for acquiring a voltage signal based on a power supply bus voltage, and to generate a detection result which indicates undesirable oscillation on the power supply bus voltage. A control unit includes a delay control module connected with the detection unit, and is coupled to the detection unit and for generating a control signal based on the detection result. The delay control module is for outputting a first control signal when undesirable oscillation happens, and outputting a second control signal after a protection period when undesirable oscillation disappears. A switch circuit controlled by the first control signal and the second control signal turns off for the protection period.

    Abstract: A system and method of Random-Access Response, RAR, messaging when a base station employs narrow beamforming. Multiple RAR messages are successively transmitted from the base station to a User Equipment, UE, before any response to a RAR message is received from the UE. Thus, despite any calibration mismatch between Uplink, UL, and Downlink, DL, beams in the beamformed system, a RAR message is not only received by the UE, but is received over the most-suitable DL beam for that UE. Each RAR message may contain a message-specific scheduling-delay indicator in the UL grant carried in the RAR message to provide an adjustable time delay for the UE's uplink transmission scheduled by the UL grant. Multiple RAR transmissions can schedule a single UL transmission at a specific time instance or different UL transmissions at different time intervals. The UE may report to the base station the best DL RAR transmission detected by the UE.

    Abstract: The invention is a novel reporter system for measuring protein-protein interactions. The system uses a pair of functionalized coiled coil subunits that spontaneously form two separate homo-oligomers when expressed in cells. The coiled coil subunits are functionalized with fluorescent proteins and complementary interacting proteins. Upon an activation stimulus which promotes the protein-protein interaction, the interacting proteins drive the formation of multivalent aggregates of the homo-oligomers in phase-shifted droplets. The highly concentrated fluorescent proteins in these structures provide high brightness over background fluorescence and a readily observed, quantitative and dynamic indicator of the protein-protein interaction. The reporters and assay methods are amenable to cells and whole organisms.
