The method includes: A session management network element obtains, in a session management process, an address or a virtual local area network identifier VID information of user equipment UE corresponding to each 5G local area network 5GLAN service accessed by a session, and obtains service area information of each 5GLAN service from a local area network controller LAN Controller. The SMF subscribes to, from a mobility management network element, a mobility event that is based on each 5GLAN service, and obtains a mobility event report that is based on a service area of the SMF, and a corresponding 5GLAN identifier. The SMF updates a rule of a corresponding session in a user plane network element based on the mobility event report.

Abstract: A local area network (LAN) communication management method includes obtaining, by an access and mobility management function (AMF) network element, registration area information of the terminal, the LAN identifier (ID) of the terminal, and the service area information corresponding to the LAN ID, determining, by the AMF network element, LAN communication area information of the terminal based on the registration area information of the terminal and the service area information corresponding to the LAN ID, sending, by the AMF network element, LAN information of the terminal to the terminal, where the LAN information of the terminal includes the LAN ID and the LAN communication area information of the terminal, and managing, by the terminal, LAN communication of the terminal based on the LAN information.

The method includes: a mobility management network element in a first system determining, based on a cellular Internet of things (CIOT) feature supported by a terminal in a second system and a CIOT feature preferred by the terminal in the second system, to redirect the terminal to the second system; and the mobility management network element in the first system sending redirection indication information to the terminal, where the redirection indication information indicates the terminal to redirect to the second system.

One example method includes determining a first encapsulation identifier corresponding to an Ethernet session by a control plane network element and sending the first encapsulation identifier corresponding to the Ethernet session to a user plane network element, where the first encapsulation identifier is used to instruct the user plane network element to process a data packet corresponding to the Ethernet session based on the first encapsulation identifier. The terminal device determines the first encapsulation identifier corresponding to the Ethernet session and encapsulates an uplink data packet based on the first encapsulation identifier, where the uplink data packet is a data packet triggered by an application program bound to the Ethernet session. The encapsulated data packet is mapped to the Ethernet session corresponding to the first encapsulation identifier for transmission based on the first encapsulation identifier.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a downlink data transmission method and apparatus. The method includes: receiving, by a user plane device, downlink data of a terminal, sending, by the user plane device, the downlink data by using a shared bearer to an access network device that is in a tracking area of the terminal, receiving, by the access network device, a context setup request message sent by a control plane device, setting up, by the access network device, a radio bearer between the access network device and the terminal based on the context setup request message, and sending, by the access network device, the downlink data to the terminal by using the radio bearer. In this way, a downlink data transmission delay is reduced and downlink data transmission efficiency is improved.

A target application instance of the user equipment is determined based on the application identity. The application identity of the source application instance is the same as an application identity of the target application instance. The second mobile edge platform provides a service for the target application instance. A switching notification message is sent by the second mobile edge platform to the target application instance. The switching notification message is used to instruct the target application instance to provide a service for the user equipment.

Abstract: A method for determining a service and session continuity (SSC) mode and an apparatus, where the method includes: determining, by a terminal device, a requested SSC mode; and sending a first request message to a first core network element, where the first request message is used to request to establish a first protocol data unit (PDU) session, and the first request message includes a session type of the first PDU session, the requested SSC mode, and first indication information. The first request message sent by the terminal device to the first core network element may carry the first indication information, used to indicate that the SSC mode requested by the terminal device is not allowed to be modified, to prevent a network-side network element from subsequently making an erroneous decision, for example, modifying the requested SSC mode to another SSC mode that is not supported by the terminal device.

Abstract: A session management method includes obtaining, by a terminal, terminal media access control (MAC) address information related to an existing Ethernet session of the terminal. Abstract: A routing rule obtaining method, device, and system are provided. The method is applied to an MEC system and performed by a data bus controller, including: obtaining service information of at least one service in the MEC system, where service information of each service includes a service type and a service identity; generating a routing rule according to the service information of the at least one service, where the routing rule is used to indicate at least one path through which a data packet can pass; and sending the routing rule to a data bus, so that the data bus forwards, according to the routing rule, a received data packet to a service corresponding to the data packet. The service information of each service is dynamically obtained, so as to update a path indicated in a routing rule.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present application provide a communication method and a device, which are used for inter-system handover of UE, so that a connection can be established between a source application management unit and a target application management unit, thereby effectively improving communication efficiency. The method in the embodiments of the present application includes: obtaining, by a network device, a source system identifier of a source application system and/or a target system identifier of a target application system; and sending, by the network device, the source system identifier to a target application management unit, or sending the target system identifier to a source application management unit, so that a connection is established between the source application management unit and the target application management unit, and the source application management unit and the target application management unit communicate with each other.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application disclose a session handling method and a related device. The method includes: receiving, by a first AMF network element, a first message from a second AMF network element, where the first message includes information about a network slice corresponding to current sessions of a terminal; when determining that the first AMF network element does not support a network slice corresponding to a first session, sending, by the first AMF network element, a first notification message to the second AMF network element, where the first notification message notifies that the first AMF network element does not support the network slice corresponding to the first session; and releasing, by the second AMF network element, a network resource corresponding to the first session. A waste of network resources can be reduced by using this application.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present application relate to the field of computer technologies, and provide a service migration method, apparatus, and system. The method is performed by a target mobile edge platform, including: receiving a service migration request sent by a source mobile edge platform; obtaining a service endpoint corresponding to a service identifier; and sending a service migration response to the source mobile edge platform. In this way, a problem of migrating a service from the source mobile edge platform to the target mobile edge platform is resolved, and it can be ensured that after the service is migrated from the source mobile edge platform to the target mobile edge platform, a local mobile edge platform that subscribes to the service on the source mobile edge platform can continue to correctly use the service migrated to the target mobile edge platform.

The method includes: determining, by the first network device, that a PDU session anchor needs to be relocated from a first user plane function entity, where the first user plane function entity is the PDU session anchor of a first PDU session of a terminal; determining, by the first network device, that a first IP address of the terminal is no longer used, where the first IP address is an IP address used by the terminal in the first PDU session; and releasing, by the first network device, the first IP address.
