  • Publication number: 20220131585
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may perform channel state information measurements on reference signal transmissions from a base station. The UE may identify a set of cross layer coefficients associated with a set of spatial layers based on the channel state information measurements. The UE may additionally identify a set of precoding coefficients associated with a spatial layer from the set of spatial layers. In some implementations, the set of precoding coefficients may be based on the set of cross layer coefficients. In some examples, the UE may transmit the set of cross layer coefficients and the set of precoding coefficients to the base station.

  • Publication number: 20220123800
Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses for wireless communications that support transmission diversity enhancement for uplink control channel are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for enhanced performance of an uplink control channel such as a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) through the use of transmission diversity. In some cases, multiple input multiple output (MIMO) techniques may be supported for transmission of an uplink control channel for a given format suitable for transmission diversity enhancement. A resource block (RB) used in an uplink control channel transmission may contain a number of resource elements (REs) across one or more resource blocks. According to some aspects, a transmit diversity scheme may be employed at the RE level through application of different spatial precoders for different groups of REs of a given RB.

  • Publication number: 20220085855
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for precoder matrix quantization for compressed channel state information (CSI) feedback. A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE) (120a) includes receiving a CSI report configuration for frequency domain compressed precoder matrix feedback. The CSI report configuration configures the UE (120a) to report, for a plurality of selected beams at a plurality of time domain taps, a frequency domain compression basis vector and a plurality of linear combination coefficients associated with the frequency domain compression (805). For each of the beams, the UE (120a) groups the time domain taps into at least first and second groups. The groups each can have zero, one, or more than one time domain taps (810). The UE (120a) quantizes the corresponding linear combination coefficients and/or frequency domain compression basis vectors based on the grouping (815).

  • Publication number: 20220029685
Abstract: Configurations and feedback schemes for compressed channel state information (CSI) feedback are provided. A User Equipment (UE) determines a constraint on a total number of transfer domain coefficients to be reported for compressed Channel State Information (CSI) feedback by the UE for a plurality of beams identified for the feedback, wherein each transfer domain coefficient is associated with amplitude information and phase information. The UE selects from a transfer domain coefficient compression matrix, based on the constraint, a set of one or more transfer domain coefficients to report for each of the beams. The UE reports information indicating a number of selected transfer domain coefficients in the set of transfer domain coefficients for each beam and a location of each transfer domain coefficient within the transfer domain coefficient compression matrix and reports at least the amplitude and phase information for the selected coefficients.

  • Publication number: 20220029675
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for channel state information (CSI) feedback for multiple discrete Fourier transform (DFT) beams on multiple transmission layers. A user equipment (UE) may report a total number of non-zero power DFT beams across all of the transmission layers. The UE may be configured with a total number of leading beams (Ktotal) across all of the transmission layers for which to provide high quantization feedback. When the total number of non-zero DFT beams across all the transmission layers exceeds the configured total number of leading beams across all the transmission layers, the UE may report high-resolution quantization feedback for Ktotal non-zero power precoding coefficients having the highest amplitude coefficients, and may report low-resolution quantization feedback for the remaining non-zero power precoding coefficients. A base station may receive the CSI feedback to determine a precoding matrix.
