Abstract: Weighing apparatus of the electromagnetic load compensation type includes a thermal conductor for transmitting coil heat from the internal region adjacent the air gap of a permanent magnetic field within which the compensation coil is arranged to a remotely-arranged thermal sensor, thereby to dissipate the coil heat and to modify as a function of internal temperature the compensating current that is supplied to the compensation coil. As a consequence of the dissipation of heat from the air gap, heating of the permanent magnet and its pole member is avoided, thereby, to prevent variation of the intensity of the permanent magnet field.
