  • Patent number: 10681624
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium may be described in the present disclosure. The apparatus may be a user equipment. The apparatus may determine whether a number of unsuccessful repetitions associated with performance of a first type of scanning exceeds a repetition threshold. The apparatus may perform a second type of beam scanning based on the determination that the number of unsuccessful repetitions exceeded the repetition threshold.

  • Patent number: 10644772
Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication at a wireless communication device. A determination may be made regarding the number of receive chains, of a plurality of receive chains, to enable for a channel. Power to the receive chains may be regulated based on the determined number of enabled receive chains. The determination may be based on a transmission scheduling rate for the wireless communication device and a rank for the channel. In some examples, the determination may further be based on a channel quality of the channel and/or a type of traffic scheduled for the channel.

  • Patent number: 9680422
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are related to power amplifier power level compensation in a pre-distortion system. A method may include applying digital pre-distortion (DPD) of a power amplifier at a frequency channel, a fixed input power value, and a fixed temperature. The method may also include determining an optimal input power value for the power amplifier in response to a change in at least one of frequency and temperature.

  • Patent number: 9374786
Abstract: Various embodiments enable a multi-SIM multi-active (MSMA) communication device to operate a power amplifier in a power saving envelope tracking mode when a first radio frequency (RF) resource is supporting data transmission to a communication network associated with a first SIM and a second RF resource is supporting a voice call in discontinuous transmission mode. A MSMA communication device processor may monitor the second RF resource supporting the voice call for silence periods, the power amplifier of the first RF resource may operate in a first power-saving mode during silence periods on the voice call, and the power amplifier of the first RF resource may operate in a second power-saving mode when the voice call on second RF resource is not in a period of silence. Periods of silence may be determined by monitoring a protocol stack of the second RF resource for silence descriptor (SID) frames scheduled for transmission.
