    Abstract: Methods and devices for prematurely terminating a transmission are provided. The method includes that a base station in a machine type communication (MTC) system receives a first data repeatedly uploaded by a terminal in the MTC system. Additionally, the base station determines whether all data blocks included in the first data are successfully demodulated. The first target number of times is a maximum number of times configured by the base station for the terminal for repeatedly uploading the first data. When determining that all the data blocks included in the first data are successfully demodulated before the total number of times of repeatedly uploading the first data reaches the first target number of times, target downlink control information (DCI) is transmitted to the terminal. The target DCI is configured to instruct the terminal to prematurely terminate uploading the first data to the base station.
