    Abstract: An illumination device includes a light tube holder including two connectors for receiving either a light-emitting diode (LED) tube or a fluorescent tube. The connector includes a rotary member rotatably received in a through hole defined in a retainer, and three conductive elastic pieces positioned in the retainer around the through hole. One elastic piece is electrically connected to an LED tube drive circuit board, and the other two elastic piece are electrically connected to a fluorescent tube drive circuit board. The rotary member can be rotated to first and second positions, wherein at the first position, the LED tube can be activated, and at the second position the fluorescent tube can be activated. The LED tubes has two conductive pins at each end thereof. The LED tube can be mounted to the connectors regardless an orientation of the LED tube.

One elastic piece is electrically connected to an LED tube drive circuit board and a fluorescent tube, and the other two elastic pieces are respectively electrically connected to the LED and fluorescent tube drive circuit boards. A normally closed switch is located in the one of the connectors. The switch has a first end connected between a power supply and a first end of a ballast, and a second end connected to a second end of the ballast. When the LED tube is mounted to the holder, the switch is closed, and when the fluorescent tube is mounted to the holder the switch is open.

The restricting member includes a first hook and a second hook. The first hook extends from one end of the first sidewall. The second hook extends from one end of the second sidewall. An end of the first hook and an end of the second hook are spaced from each other. When the electrical terminal is received in the receiving space, the first hook engages with the second hook, to prevent the receiving space from being stretch beyond a predetermined size or size range.

The prism sheet is mounted in the housing and comprises a number of V-shaped micro-grooves formed thereon along three directions intersecting with each other. The circuit board is fixed on the base plate, wherein a plurality of LED units are arranged on the circuit board, each two adjacent LED units are spaced a preset distance apart from each other and emit light of different colors. Six virtual mixed light sources are formed by reflection of the prism sheet to the circuit board when the light emitted by an LED unit mixes with light emitted from adjacent LED units on the circuit board. Each of the virtual mixed light sources has a color different from the colors of the light emitted from the LED units.
