Abstract: The present invention relates to a personal care composition that contains a rinse-off composition which deposits at least 0.5 &mgr;g/cm2 of shiny particles on the skin. Preferably, the shiny particles are hydrophobically modified interference pigments. The inventors have found that hydrophobically modifying the particles significantly improves the deposition of the particles on skin from rinsable compositions.

Abstract: The compositions of the present invention relate to improved shampoo compositions having from about from about 5 to about 50 weight percent of a detersive surfactant, at least about 0.05 weight percent of a silicone in water emulsion made by mixing materials comprising (I) a composition containing at least one first polysiloxane having at least one Si—H group, at least one second polysiloxane having at least one aliphatically unsaturated group that reacts with said first polysiloxane by a chain extension reaction and a metal containing catalyst for said chain extension reaction, (II) at least one surfactant selected from the group consisting of anionic, cationic, alkylpolysaccharide and amphoteric, and (III) water to form a mixture; and emulsifying the mixture; and at least about 20.0 weight percent of an aqueous carrier.

Abstract: Leave-in hair cosmetic compositions for enhancing hair volume comprise fluid-encapsulated, flexible microspheres exhibiting a mean particle size of less than about 300 &mgr;m in diameter, a water-soluble or water-swellable polymer, and an aqueous carrier such that the combination of the polymer and the microspheres results in a solid continuous or semi-continuous film network. Methods for enhancing hair volume, and more particularly for enhancing hair volume, comprise applying leave-in aqueous cosmetic compositions which contain spherical, flexible, fluid-encapsulated particles of less than about 300 &mgr;m in diameter, a water-soluble or water-swellable polymer and an aqueous carrier. The compositions provide improved hair volume, body, bounce, fullness, springiness, and texture in addition to providing good hair conditioning and styling benefits.
