  • Patent number: 8648285
Abstract: A system for guiding a gun-fired or mortared round towards an intended target, the system including a round having: a forward facing image pick-up device for capturing image data; a first transceiver; guidance device for varying a flight path of the round; and a first processor. The system further including a control platform remotely located from the round, the control platform having: a second transceiver; a second processor; an input device; and a display. Where the first processor transmits image data from the image pick-up device through the first transceiver to the second processor through the second transceiver, the second processor transmits guidance information from the second transceiver to the first processor through the first transceiver and the first processor controls the guidance device based on the guidance information to guide the round towards the intended target.

  • Publication number: 20130284044
Abstract: A mechanism including: a toggle link rotatably connected to a base structure; a stop connected to the base structure for limiting a rotational travel of the toggle link; a biasing element having a first end attached to the base structure and a second end attached to the toggle link such that the toggle link is biased towards the stop when the toggle link is positioned on a first side of a singular position and the toggle link is biased towards an opposite direction from the stop when the toggle link is positioned on a second side of the singular position; and an inertial element movably disposed between the base structure and the toggle link such that that inertial element moves the toggle link from the first side of the singular position to the second side of the singular position when the base structure undergoes an acceleration event greater than a predetermined threshold.

  • Publication number: 20130048776
Abstract: A method for guiding a gun-fired or mortared round towards an intended target. The method including: capturing image data from an image pick-up device during a descent of the round; transmitting the image data to a control platform remotely located from the round; transmitting guidance information to the round from the remote platform based on the captured image data; varying a flight path of the round based on the guidance information to guide the round towards its intended target.

  • Publication number: 20110224034
Abstract: An object, such as a ball-shaped object, suitable for games and amusement purposes has a first portion made of an elastic material and a second portion made of a non-elastic material. The combination of the elastic first portion and the non-elastic second portion renders the object to bounce unpredictably upon impacting a solid flat surface.

  • Patent number: 6216868
Abstract: The handle has a blade mounting portion with a raised boss forming a slot. The blade has a boss receiving recess with a portion defined by an edge. The cartridge has a transparent top so that the presence of a blade within the cartridge can be observed and an opening at one end into which the blade mounting portion of the handle can be inserted. The bottom of the cartridge includes a spring platform with a recess into which the blade is received. The platform is integral with the cartridge bottom and is mounted in cantilever-like fashion, by a living hinge, to permit it to flex. When the top and bottom of the cartridge are assembled, ribs on the top cause the platform to move to a spring loaded position, where the forward end of the handle boss can enter the blade recess. As the blade mounting portion of the handle is inserted further into the cartridge, the flexibility of the platform permits the boss to be fully seated within the recess, mounting the blade on the handle.
