  • Publication number: 20080307997
Abstract: The invention relates to a bending mount (24) for a switch arrangement for magnetically levitated railways. The bending mount comprises at least a box-shaped support element (25) that extends in the longitudinal direction (x) and on which are fixed successively arranged supporting metal sheets (27) that extend on both sides of the support element and serve to assemble the pieces of equipment (10, 12). According to the invention, the supporting metal sheets (27) are configured as single-piece components which extend over the width of the bending mount and are interlinked in the longitudinal direction to form a chain. Said chain essentially does not influence the flexural rigidity of the support element (25) in the desired direction (y) of a switching arrangement but exhibits a high rigidity against torsion about the longitudinal axis (x) and against vibrations in the vertical direction (z).

  • Patent number: 7362363
Abstract: In a sensor arrangement, a number of sensor elements make measurements and a read-out unit reads measurements from the sensor elements. Images should be recorded in such a way that easily compressible representation of the image content is obtained back at the recording stage and an additional processor unit is not required. The read-out unit reads partial measurements from the sensor elements in succession by at least one of adding and subtracting measurements of different sensor elements. By adding or subtracting the measurements of the different sensor elements to obtain the partial measurements, values of basis vectors are obtained for a basis in which the overall measurement can be represented.

  • Publication number: 20070250552
Abstract: A network caching system has a multi-protocol caching filer coupled to an origin server to provide storage virtualization of data served by the filer in response to data access requests issued by multi-protocol clients over a computer network. The multi-protocol caching filer includes a file system configured to manage a sparse volume that “virtualizes” a storage space of the data to thereby provide a cache function that enables access to data by the multi-protocol clients. To that end, the caching filer further includes a multi-protocol engine configured to translate the multi-protocol client data access requests into generic file system primitive operations executable by both the caching filer and the origin server.

  • Publication number: 20060242382
Abstract: An apparatus and method for managing of common storage in a storage system is disclosed. In one embodiment, a storage system receives a request to set a space reservation for a volume associated with a logical aggregation of physical storage. In response, the storage system sets the space reservation to indicate that the logical aggregation of physical storage is to provide a specified amount of space to the volume. In one embodiment, space within the logical aggregation of physical storage is automatically reclaimed to set a delayed space reservation if the amount of unused space within the logical aggregation of physical storage is insufficient to set the space reservation. In one embodiment, the volume is either a space-reclaimable volume or a non-space-reclaimable volume. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 7047162
Abstract: A partition of an electrical circuit is formed in that the electrical circuit is imaged on a graph (102) and weighting values are allocated (103) to the edges of the graph. The weighting values describe a required calculating outlay for determining electrical descriptive quantities for the respective element of the electrical circuit represented by the edge. A check is carried in iterative methods to see whether, proceeding from preceding iteration steps, a sum of the weighting values of edges grouped together lies between a first threshold and a second threshold by adding a further edge. When this is the case, then a further check is carried out to see whether a plurality of terminals of the elements within the partition to elements outside the partition is increased by adding new edges. When this is not the case, then the respective edge is also incorporated into the partition.

  • Patent number: 6862565
Abstract: A method and an apparatus allows complete and efficient verification of cross-architecture ISA emulation. A random verification framework runs concurrently on two different computer architectures. The framework operates without regard to existing native applications and relies instead on binary instructions in a native ISA. The framework determines emulation errors at a machine instruction level. A random code generator generates one or more sequences of native machine instructions and corresponding initial machine states in a pseudo-random fashion. The native instructions are generated from an entire set of the native ISA. The instructions and the state information are provided to initialize a native computer architecture. The same instructions and state information are provided using standard machine-to-machine languages, such as TCP/IP, for example, to a target computer architecture. A binary emulator then translates the native instructions so that the instructions may be executed on the target computer.

  • Patent number: 6732337
Abstract: A DC transfer curve of a circuit is determined for determining the global dynamics of a circuit and a stability analysis is conducted for points of the DC transfer curve. The results of the stability analysis are at least one stable region and at least one unstable region of the DC transfer curve. • Patent number: 6341364
Abstract: A partition of an electrical circuit is formed in that the electrical circuit is mapped on a graph (102), and the nodes and/or edges of the graph are assigned weight values (103). The weight values describe a required computing outlay for the calculation of electrical descriptive parameters for the respective elements of the electrical circuit that is represented to the nodes and/or by the edges. A placement method is then applied to the elements of the electrical circuit (104). Next, a measure is calculated of a number, which arises on the basis of a partitioning, of cut edges and/or margin nodes for elements of the electrical circuit (105). The elements are grouped in partitions depending on the previously calculated measure (106).

  • Patent number: 5787004
Abstract: In the method, following an operating point determination of the quartz resonator circuit, a substitution of the equivalent circuit diagram of the quartz resonator by an independent current source is implemented with the initial, previously determined amplitude of the current of the dynamic arm of the quartz resonator. The dynamic equilibrium state is determined for this circuit arrangement with firing methods or methods of harmonic balance. After a resubstitution of the current source by the equivalent circuit diagram of the quartz resonator, a transient analysis is implemented for the dynamic equilibrium state. This method is iteratively implemented as long as the identified growth rate lies above a prescribable barrier.
