  • Patent number: 9986059
Abstract: An exemplary content engine includes a content gateway configured to analyze and route content requests to a content server. The content server can be a cache server or a mobile content server. The cache server can be configured to receive and store cacheable web content from a controller that is configured to receive the cacheable web content from at least one cacheable web content provider, such as a web server, and route the content to the cache server. The mobile content server can be configured to receive, from the controller, and store the digital media content. The controller can be further configured to receive the digital media content from at least one external content server and route the content to the mobile content server. The content gateway can be further configured to receive non-cacheable web content from at least one non-cacheable web content provider.

  • Patent number: 9936377
Abstract: A software defined networking controller can be provided to manage sharing of information relating to roaming requests for mobile devices that are roaming on visited networks. The software defined networking controller can be a sub-instance of a main software defined networking controller that manages traffic within the home network, and the software defined networking controller can sit at the edge of the home network and control edge routing elements. The edge software defined networking controller may communicate with roaming partner's edge software defined networking controller and/or with the roaming interconnect operator's software defined networking controller to exchange roaming related information.

  • Publication number: 20170374157
Abstract: A more efficient wireless network can utilize network elements, a service controller, and agents associated with the network elements. Each network element can publish state information and resource information so that other network elements and the service controller can readily identify which network element has available resources. Therefore, each network element can be a resource consumer and a resource provider. Additionally, the network elements can register with the service controller and/or allow agents to act on their behalf in order to generate a more efficient network.

  • Publication number: 20170318517
Abstract: A network core with a software defined networking (“SDN”) controller is provided to control routing of traffic within the network and between the network and the traffic destination. The SDN controller is merged with existing 3rd Generation Partnership Project (“3GPP”) network architecture to enable service deliveries via open application programming interfaces (“APIs”) and move the network core towards an all internet protocol (“IP”), cloud based, and software driven telecom network. The SDN controller can work with, or take the place of policy and charging rules function (“PCRF”) network elements, so that policies such as quality of service and traffic management and routing can be synchronized and managed end to end.

  • Publication number: 20170310710
Abstract: A method, non-transitory computer readable medium and apparatus for processing a request from a server of a machine-to-machine service provider are provided. For example, the method receives the request from the server of the machine-to-machine service provider to communicate with a machine-to-machine device, determines whether to authorize the request based upon a policy in a privacy database, and enables communications between the server of the machine-to-machine service provider and the machine-to-machine device if the request is authorized based upon the policy.

  • Patent number: 9692668
Abstract: A method and non-transitory computer readable medium for provisioning services for machine to machine communication devices in a communications network. For example, the method receives a request from a third party service provider to provision a service to a user of the third party service provider, determines whether a communication network service provider of the communications network and the third party service provider have a pre-existing agreement to provision the service, and provisions the service of the third party service provider to the user via the communications network in accordance with the pre-existing agreement, wherein the user is a subscriber of the communication network service provider.

  • Publication number: 20170154191
Abstract: Master privacy policies for different users are stored to a cloud-based central server. When a user interacts with a third-party service (such as FACEBOOK® or AMAZON®), the third party service may require acceptance of privacy policies before services are rendered. Here the cloud-based central server may automatically configure a privacy policy of the third-party service to the user's master privacy policy. The cloud-based central server thus relives the user of managing many different privacy policies required by many different third party service providers.

  • Patent number: 9615203
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for protecting privacy when a mobile device is located in a defined privacy zone are described herein. The available features that a user of a mobile device may use are controlled while the mobile device is located in a define privacy zone. Once a mobile device is detected in the define privacy zone, a database is accessed to determine if the mobile device has the features available that are to be disabled. If the features are available, a disable signal is sent via the communications network to the mobile device and the feature is disabled. Once the mobile device is detected to be outside of the defined privacy zone, the previously disabled mobile device feature is enabled.

  • Patent number: 9584636
Abstract: A method, computer readable medium and apparatus for transmitting signaling information within payload traffic. For example, the method parses a certificate received from a service provider to obtain service imprint information associated with a mobile service, inserts a service control parameter derived from the service imprint information into a packet header, and forwards the packet header within payload traffic to a policy charging and enforcing function.

  • Publication number: 20170033998
Abstract: Aspects describe using a Policy Access Gateway that can facilitate scalability within a communication network and that can provide a solution to deploy an enhanced policy gateway. The Policy Access Gateway can enhance standard defined Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) functions with session binding mechanisms. Further, the Policy Access Gateway is scalable and can be deployed in a very large network that supports hundreds of millions of users. Further, the Policy Access Gateway can provide additional policy information to enable policy information consolidation and caching capabilities.
