  • Publication number: 20110086042
Abstract: The present invention provides novel isolated centrobin polynucleotides and polypeptides encoded by the centrobin polynucleotides. The invention additionally provides methods of inhibiting cell growth by contacting a cell with a centrobin inhibitor.

  • Publication number: 20090137479
Abstract: The invention provides a method of treating laminopathy in a subject comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of centrobin polypeptide to the subject such that laminopathy is treated. The invention also provides a method of identifying an agent that enhances nuclear envelope integrity. The method comprises administering an agent to a cell comprising mutant centrobin, allowing the cell to replicate to form daughter cells, and observing nuclear envelope morphology within the daughter cells. In addition, the invention includes a method for diagnosing or identifying a predisposition to a laminopathy. The method comprises detecting the presence or absence of mutant centrobin in a sample, wherein the presence of mutant centrobin indicates that the subject is suffering from, or is predisposed to develop, a laminopathy. A kit for diagnosing or identifying a predisposition to a laminopathy also is provided.

  • Publication number: 20030064477
Abstract: The invention relates to a putative human tumor suppressor protein identified as a novel GAP protein, designated “E6TP1” (for E6-targeted protein), its nucleic acid and amino acid sequences, and methods of use thereof in the regulation of small G protein signaling pathways. In addition, methods of use of E6TP1 as a Therapeutic for treatment or prevention of carcinomas, especially HPV-associated carcinomas of anogenital origin, and other diseases is encompassed in the invention.
    Type: Application
