The first substrate includes a base substrate, and data lines and scanning lines that intersect to define sub-pixel units. Each of the sub-pixel units includes a common electrode and a pixel electrode that are arranged in different layers. For each of at least one of the sub-pixel units, the pixel electrode includes at least two strip-shaped electrodes including at least one first strip-shaped electrode and at least one second strip-shaped electrode. The first strip-shaped electrode is insulated from the common electrode, and the second strip-shaped electrode and the common electrode are at a same voltage.
