  • Publication number: 20100145207
Abstract: A method for generating a cardiac electrical instability assesment is disclosed herein. The method includes obtaining a SDTWA measurement, obtaining a LDTWA measurement, and obtaining a cardiac electrical instability assessment based on both the SDTWA measurement and the LDTWA measurement.

  • Publication number: 20080154143
Abstract: A method for evaluating an electrocardiogram is disclosed herein. The method includes measuring an electrical activity of a patient, processing the measured electrical activity to form a multi-lead signal, and extracting a segment of the multi-lead signal. The method for evaluating an electrocardiogram also includes transforming the segment of the multi-lead signal into a synthesized signal that is most representative of the patient's electrical activity, and evaluating the synthesized signal. A corresponding system for evaluating an electrocardiogram is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6507753
Abstract: In order to reduce bias associated with conventional ECG analysis, the present invention provides a method and apparatus to improve diagnosis of acute cardiac syndromes (ACS), such as acute myocardial infarction and acute cardiac ischemia (unstable angina), in specified groups of patients using ECG signals and automatic detection analysis. Specific criteria are developed and utilized based on a prespecified group selection for the particular patient. After identifying group membership for the particular patient, ECG data are acquired from a patient experiencing ACS symptoms. Known criteria typically used for assessing ACS are then modified for the particular group membership. Such criteria significantly reduce the bias found in a baseline group for which the known criteria were established.

  • Patent number: 6463320
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for taking multiple physiological signals (e.g., ECG waveforms) from different sources as input, applying multiple algorithms in its core and generating results which are exported for use in clinical studies and research. The apparatus has a built-in database and a built-in spreadsheet to provide a unified platform for all clinical research in the medical field, including, but not limited to, clinical core laboratory work and high-end clinical research.

  • Patent number: 5840038
Abstract: A method and apparatus for signal averaging and analyzing high resolution P wave signals from an electrocardiogram. The method and apparatus for averaging the P wave portion of ECG signals includes sensing human ECG signals having at least a QRS portion and a P wave portion, detecting the QRS portion of the ECG signals, suppressing the QRS portion of the ECG signals, generating a P wave detection function from the wave portion of the ECG signals, cross correlating the P wave portions of the ECG signals and averaging the cross correlated P wave signals. The method and apparatus for analyzing high resolution P wave signals includes averaging at least a portion of the ECG signals, filtering the averaged signals, deriving the vector magnitude (VM) of the filtered averaged signals, determining the base noise level, and setting the P onset and P offset of the VM signals above the noise level.

  • Patent number: 5792065
Abstract: A method and apparatus for analyzing QT dispersions in ECG lead signals, comprising acquiring a plurality of ECG lead signals, filtering said signals to remove noise without distorting the T-wave morphology, determining critical T-wave marker points, and calculating QT dispersion and their heart rate corrected values from the determined markers. The apparatus comprises a processor programmed to perform these functions.
