  • Publication number: 20240061889
Abstract: Generally, the present disclosure is directed to systems and methods of quantizing a database with respect to a novel loss or quantization error function which applies a weight to an error measurement of quantized elements respectively corresponding to the datapoints in the database. The weight is determined based on the magnitude of an inner product between the respective datapoints and a query compared therewith. In contrast to previous work, embodiments of the proposed loss function are responsive to the expected magnitude of an inner product between the respective datapoints and a query compared therewith and can prioritize error reduction for higher-ranked pairings of the query and the datapoints. Thus, the systems and methods of the present disclosure provide solutions to some of the problems with traditional quantization approaches, which regard all error as equally impactful.

  • Patent number: 10713780
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and a computer-readable storage medium for color quality assessment of a batch-sample image based on multispectral imaging. The method comprises: selecting an operation area on a reference image and locating a corresponding operation area on a batch-sample image, wherein the reference image is used for color comparison with the batch-sample image to determine whether the batch-sample image satisfies a pass requirement; generating and comparing the color-information items obtained from the reference image and from the batch-sample image respectively and determine whether the batch-sample image satisfies the pass requirement based on one or more thresholds. This method can be applied to automatically and precisely assess the quality of mixed-color fabrics in textile industry, which is more objective, reliable, and cost-effective, as compared to conventional methods for color quality assessment.

  • Patent number: 9094164
Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus generates a codeword, determines at least one puncture to the codeword based on allowing a legacy receiver to decode the codeword without knowledge of the at least one puncture, replaces each of the at least one puncture with a pilot, and transmits the codeword. The apparatus may also generate an IEEE 802.11 codeword having pilots in a first set of subcarriers, and puncture the codeword with additional pilots unknown to a legacy receiver in a second set of subcarriers. Accordingly, when an original set of pilot symbols is insufficient or inappropriately placed in a resource structure, a codeword may be transmitted with a new pilot structure capable of being decoded by legacy receivers not aware of the new pilot structure.
