  • Patent number: 10484840
Abstract: A method and apparatus for grouping communications between mobile communication devices. The method includes receiving, at a mobile communication device, one or more facility identifiers, each of the one or more facility identifiers associated with a facility. The method further includes storing the one or more facility identifiers in a memory; decoding, via an electronic processor, a group call having an initiation identifier; and comparing, via the electronic processor, the initiation identifier to the one or more facility identifiers. The method further includes joining, via the electronic processor, the group call based on the comparison between the initiation identifier and the one or more facility identifiers. The method may further include leaving, via the electronic processor, the group call.

  • Patent number: 10149110
Abstract: Method and system for tracking a plurality of communication devices. One system includes a plurality of communication devices that each include a respective electronic processor, a respective camera, a respective location component, and a respective network interface. At least one of the plurality of communication devices is configured to receive location information from each of the other of the plurality of communication devices, generate a tracking map, and transmit the tracking map to each of the other of the plurality of communication devices. The tracking map assigns each of the plurality of communication devices only one of the other of the plurality of communication devices. Each of the plurality of communication devices is configured to control, with its respective electronic processor, its respective camera based on the tracking map to include in its field of view its respectively assigned one of the other of the plurality of communication devices.

  • Patent number: 10083359
Abstract: A method and device for incident situation prediction. Using the method, a list of objects of interest is generated and stored in a call controller, where each object of interest in the list of objects of interest is associated with at least one of a plurality of incident types. The call controller receives an image stream of an incident and classifies the image stream as one of the plurality of incident types. The call controller selects a subset of objects of interest from the list of objects of interest, the subset of objects of interest associated with the one of the plurality of incident types. The call controller determines whether the image stream includes an object from the subset of objects of interest and generates a notification associated with the object. The notification is transmitted to a set of incident scene devices associated with the incident.

  • Patent number: 9967908
Abstract: In a direct mode two-way radio frequency communications system having a plurality of direct mode traffic channels, a first direct mode subscriber unit (DMSU) monitors a preconfigured direct mode control channel (DMCC), the DMCC being a channel that is monitored by all DMSUs that are idle in the system, and which is time divided into slots including traffic channel status slots (TCSSs), each TCSS associated with another physical direct mode traffic channel (DMTC) in the communication system. Responsive to detecting a request to initiate a new call, the DMSU selects a first DMTC on which to transmit the call, transmits during the next TCSS of the DMCC associated with the selected DMTC a header indicating the first DMSU's intention to transmit a new call on the selected DMTC, and subsequently switches to the selected DMTC and transmits the new call.

  • Patent number: 9843906
Abstract: A repeater receives a first group message directed to a talk group. The repeater assigns a first unique message identifier including a generated first sequence number to the first group message. The repeater broadcasts the first group message with the first unique message identifier and the unique talk group address to the talk group. The repeater later receives a second group message directed to the talk group, generates a second sequence number from the generated first sequence number, assigns a second unique message identifier including the second sequence number to the second group message and broadcasts the second group message to the talk group. The first sequence number and the second sequence number may be used by a receiving radio of the talk group to determine if the radio failed to receive one or more group messages or if a received group messages is a duplicate message.

  • Patent number: 9654939
Abstract: A radio receives a call including a call include bitmask (CIB). The radio retrieves a call include list (CIL) that, for each bit position in the CIB, maps the bit position to one of a radio identifier, a talk group identifier, and a sub-CIL. The radio determines that one bit position in the CIB is set to a value indicating that a radio associated with a radio identifier mapped to the bit position in the CIB via the CIL or to a talk group identifier mapped to the bit position in the CIB via the CIL are to be included in the call. The radio matches its identifier to the radio identifier mapped to the bit position or matches a talk group to which it subscribes to the talk group identifier mapped to the at least one bit position and unmutes the call.
