Abstract: In various embodiments, applicant's teachings are related to an apparatus and method of providing a data storage device to be interfaced between a data receiving apparatus in a data collecting configuration and a data processor in a data retrieval configuration. In various embodiments, applicant's teachings are related to an apparatus and method of selectively operating a data storage device to receive data from a data receiving apparatus. In some embodiments, the data storage device receives data when an acceptable operating condition of the device is sensed. In various embodiments, applicant's teachings are related to an apparatus and method to reduce the time that the data storage device is in operation while it is collecting the data.
