  • Patent number: 4922064
Abstract: A door position indicator for indicating when the door is open or ajar from the doorjamb comprises a proximity switch which is adjustably mounted on the frame leaf attached to the doorjamb. An actuator is adjustably mounted on the door leaf attached to the door and positioned thereon for alignment with the proximity switch when the door is closed. The indicator also comprises a spring which urges the actuator toward the proximity switch when the actuator and switch are aligned.

  • Patent number: 4691542
Abstract: A modular lock unit including a carrier frame and a heavy base plate and framework is positioned in a steel door jamb. A lock solenoid and an unlock solenoid are connected to opposite ends of a bolt cam slide extending through a vertical slot in a horizontally reciprocal bolt so that vertical movement of the slide effects camming movement of the bolt between an extended locking position and a retracted unlocking position. The slide includes a central slot oriented at approximately 45.degree. and having vertical deadlock end portions. A lock pin in the bolt extends through the central slot of the slide and enters the deadlock portion of the bolt when in either its extended or retracted position. Camming movement of the bolt is effected by the front and rear edges of the slide engageable with front and rear follower surfaces in the slot in the bolt.

  • Patent number: 4509347
Abstract: A modular lock unit has a lock solenoid and an unlock solenoid connected to opposite ends of a bolt cam slide for operating a horizontally reciprocal bolt. A centered circuit automatically locks the door when it is closed and automatically retracts the bolt in the event that any obstruction is provided in the strike in the door so as to preclude damage to the solenoid employed for extending the bolt. A time delay relay in the circuit terminates power to the lock solenoid after it has been actuated for 1.5 seconds so as to preclude solenoid damage if the bolt is blocked.

  • Patent number: 4180287
Abstract: A dead bolt and lock bolt for a cell door have the dead bolt controlled electrically from a remote control station. The lock bolt is controlled electrically from the remote station or the door location itself. A main control lever at the control station is movable to a deadlock position for mechanically deadlocking the lock bolt in its locking position and to a release position for unlocking both the dead bolt and the lock bolt. Protective circuit means prevents the dead bolt from being moved to its extended position when the door is open and a protective deadlock latch locks the dead bolt in either its retracted position or its extended position. When the main control lever is moved to an operate position, the guard or inmate can unlock or lock the door by use of a key if the dead bolt is in its retracted position.
