  • Patent number: 4378082
Abstract: A holster for holding a handgun having a safety strap integrated with a quick release mechanism to hold the handgun in place until released by the user. The strap extends from an exposed portion of the holster over a part of the handgun and cooperates with a complementary member and the release mechanism integrated therewith for releasing the strap from the complementary member thereby allowing the gun to be withdrawn. This release mechanism is located sufficiently within the outer dimensions of the handgun and the holster to impede substantially inadvertent actuation.

  • Patent number: 4165826
Abstract: A holster and a belt for carrying a handgun where the holster is releasably secured to the belt for locating the handgun within trousers to maintain the handgun sufficiently hidden until exposed for use. The holster has a pocket member for receiving the handgun and a flexible portion which connects the holster to the belt. This flexible portion is of a length which locates the entire handgun where it is carried by the pocket portion of the holster below the belt such that it will be normally hidden from view. To expose the handgun for operation, the operator can simply press the holster, upwardly exposing at least a grip of the handgun for grasping by the user.

  • Patent number: 3942692
Abstract: A belt revolver holster with the pocket formed of one piece of leather folded symetrically along the front edge then welted and stitched closed along the back edge. The revolver is held securely in place by a 5/8 inch .times. 3 inch flat leaf spring inserted and stitched in place along the vertical front edge of the holster pocket. The spring, bent to an approximate angle of 25.degree. presses against the revolver frame forcing it back agaist a nylon welt which is shaped to, and houses most of the revolver trigger guard. The revolver then can be released only by grasping the butt and by using a clockwise pivoting motion. The same motion or "draw" taught in most police weapon training schools. The revolver pocket is stitched to two 11/2 inch strips which protrude, one to the front, and one to the rear of the holster. The strips are in turn fastened to the waist belt by means of Velcro straps which when wrapped around the waist belt allow an adjustment and hold securely to most standard belt widths.
