  • Patent number: 12651716
Abstract: A high-voltage circuit breaker filled with gas, including two arcing contacts, a support in which a thermal volume, a compression volume, and an exhaust gas chamber are formed. A first radial wall separating the thermal volume and the compression volume, which is movable within the support. A second radial wall separating the compression volume and the exhaust gas chamber. A buffer volume is formed in the support and is separated from the compression volume and the exhaust gas chamber by associated walls, that are designed to be connected to the compression volume only to allow gas stored in the buffer volume to be discharged towards the compression volume.

  • Patent number: 12033817
Abstract: The invention concerns a double-motion circuit breaker comprising primary and secondary movable contacts slidingly mounted within primary and secondary holders, wherein the primary movable contact comprises a tulip and a contact cylinder attached thereto, and the secondary movable contact comprises a pin for engaging the tulip but no counter-contact for engaging the contact cylinder. The circuit breaker also has a non-linear linkage mechanism with a pin and slot mechanism, and a fixed dielectric shield provided on the secondary holder. During disconnection, the linkage mechanism is preferably arranged to move the pin more than the tulip, proportionally to their maximum stroke, so as to quickly bring the pin tip within the fixed dielectric shield, whereafter the tulip moves more than the pin. This circuit breaker is cheaper, lighter and can be disconnected more quickly.

  • Patent number: 10347446
Abstract: To improve cooling performances of quenching gas in a gas blast switch comprising a gas channel connecting an arcing region to a gas storage chamber delimited by radially opposite inner and outer walls and axially opposite first and second end walls, a flow guiding radial wall extends in the gas storage chamber spaced from each wall delimiting the chamber, an opening of the gas channel into the gas storage chamber through the first end wall faces a space between the flow guiding radial wall and the inner wall, the outer wall includes a deflecting portion protruding in the gas storage chamber and facing the second end wall, and at least part of the deflecting portion is offset from the flow guiding radial wall in an axial direction oriented from the gas channel towards the gas storage chamber.

  • Patent number: 10026571
Abstract: To improve an interruption process, a switching chamber for a gas-insulated circuit breaker comprises a thermal channel having a bend part delimited by an outer surface of an auxiliary insulating nozzle including a first bend section on a thermal volume side, a third bend section on an arcing region side, and a second bend section connecting the first bend section to the third bend section, and by an inner surface of a main insulating nozzle including a fourth bend section on a thermal volume side, a sixth bend section on an arcing region side, and a fifth bend section connecting the fourth bend section to the sixth bend section, such that in axial section view, the first to sixth bend sections form 30 degrees arcs of circles having respective radii R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 such that R1>R2>R3 and R4>R5>R6.
