  • Publication number: 20230032996
Abstract: Systems and methods for determining the height of a subject include a fixed unit mounted to a surface in electronic communication with a mobile unit permitting user input to drive instructions for the system. A sensor in the fixed unit emits a signal upon activation which is received. Time difference between emitting and receiving the signal is used to calculate the height of the room for calibrating the system and the height of the subject when measuring. The mobile unit includes a measurement surface positioned proximate to a maximal point of the subject for measurement, which intercepts and preferably reflects a measurement signal emitted by the sensor of the fixed unit. A light source in the fixed unit may create a mark on the support substrate indicating the location for the subject for measurement. The height determination may be sent to a hub or subject's EMR.

  • Patent number: 11090214
Abstract: A leg support assembly for a medical examination device having tracks, a frame and a leg pad. The frame is configured so the leg pad mounted thereto is angled relative to the horizontal in a stowed position within the examination device. Guide members are movable along the tracks to maneuver the leg pad between stowed and deployed positions. The tracks include a horizontal section for forward movement, an incline section enabling elevation, and a detent to retain the leg pad in a deployed position. When deployed, the upper surface of the leg pad is level or co-planar with the seat cushion of the examination device. Greater vertical displacement of the leg pad is achieved than the vertical height of the leg support assembly when stowed.

  • Patent number: 10898000
Abstract: An extension assembly for a procedure chair leg pad includes a frame and a leg pad assembly. The frame attaches to deployment tracks of the procedure chair through frame arms and includes a slot(s). At least one slot includes detents configured to receive and selectively restrain a guide member. The leg pad assembly is disposed in proximity to the frame and includes a guide member(s) extending therefrom, through a slot and movable relative to the frame. The leg pad assembly may be moved forward and rearward by manual adjustment, moving the guide members through their respective slots. Detents along the slots restrain the guide member at predefined positions until sufficient force is applied to overcome the geometry of the detent. A detent(s) is configured to prevent vertical movement of the leg pad assembly when stowed vertically, but still allow movement in a deployed position.

  • Publication number: 20200046296
Abstract: An arm support assembly includes an armrest and connecting assembly. The armrest may meet regulatory or industry standards and is maneuverable into a variety of positions, including seated, blood pressure reading, supping or lying, and stowed or patient transfer positions. The armrest may be padded and/or upholstered. The connecting assembly includes first and second joints each selectively rotatable and an elongate member connecting them. The first joint rotatably mounts to the armrest, and the second joint mounts to the side of an examination device such as a table or chair. The joints include a rotary mechanism to engage between locked and unlocked positions, where rotational motion is enabled in unlocked positions. Rotation at first and second joints collectively result in maneuvering the armrest between the various positions.

  • Publication number: 20190083345
Abstract: An accessory pad is selectively and removably mountable to a footrest of a medical examination device to fill in space between the footrest and seat cushion of the medical examination device and forms a substantially co-planar surface for patient support. The accessory pad has a body with upper and lower surfaces and at least one side. A recess configured to receive and restrain a portion of a footrest is formed in at least one of the lower surface and side of the body and may form a snug fit therewith. When installed, the upper surface of the accessory pad is substantially co-planar with the upper surface of the seat cushion. The accessory pad may also be adjacent to the seat cushion, forming a substantially continuous support surface with the seat cushion. Fastener(s) and restraint member(s) may be included to further secure the accessory pad in place.
