Abstract: A floor panel includes a substrate, a decorative layer and a wear layer. The decorative layer is positioned between the substrate and the wear layer. At least one of the substrates, the decorative layer and the wear layer has a thermoplastic synthetic material. The floor panel further includes a foamed backing layer attached to a side of the panel opposite to the wear layer. The foamed backing layer has a density of at least 120 kg/m3 and a compressive strength value as determined in accordance with ASTM D 3575-91 (25%) of at least 210 kPa.

Abstract: A floor element includes a substrate made of polymer, a top layer on one of the two sides of the substrate and a polymeric foamed layer on the other of the two sides of the substrate. The density of the polymeric foamed layer is less than 120 kg/m3.
