  • Patent number: 11294309
Abstract: Example implementations relate to first page out reduction. For example, a system according to the present disclosure may include a host computing device including a processor. The system may further include a printer coupled to the host computing device. The processor may determine a distribution of print content relative to a leading edge of a page of print medium. The processor may further determine a first threshold fuser temperature in response to the determination of the distribution of print content.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 15, 2016
Date of Patent: April 5, 2022
    Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.
Inventors: Brian C Mayer, Quintin Phillips

  • Publication number: 20060164378
Abstract: A keyboard illumination system comprises a computer device having a plurality of liquid crystal displays (LCDs). The system also comprises a display controller adapted to change an electrical state of at least one of the LCDs for providing a predetermined level of illumination by the at least one LCD for illuminating at least a portion of a keyboard of the computer device.

  • Publication number: 20050002679
Abstract: A method in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention includes making a first quantitative measurement, dispensing a number of media sheets from the stack, and making a second quantitative measurement, wherein the quantitative measurement can be, for example, the weight of the stack or the thickness of the stack. A ratio is calculated such that the ratio is equal to the number of sheets dispensed divided by the difference in the first and second quantitative measurements. The ratio can then be multiplied by the second quantitative measurement to establish an estimated number of media sheets remaining in the stack at the time the second quantitative measurement was made.

  • Patent number: 6810226
Abstract: Apparatus include a toner cartridge that defines a primary toner reservoir and at least one secondary toner reservoir. A gate device is also included, wherein the gate device is configured to selectively control the flow of toner from the secondary toner reservoir to the primary toner reservoir. Methods of operating a toner cartridge include providing a toner cartridge having a primary toner reservoir and a secondary toner reservoir. The toner cartridge is operated to initially deplete toner from the primary toner reservoir. At a given level of toner depletion from the primary toner reservoir, toner is dumped from the secondary toner reservoir into the primary toner reservoir for replenishment thereof.
