The present invention also relates to bitumen binder compositions comprising a (1?3)-?-D-glucan in an amount of 0.005 to less than 0.1 wt. %, based on the total weight of the bitumen binder composition. The present invention further relates to emulsions comprising a novel biodegradable emulsifying agent, in particular in combination with a (1?3)-?-D-glucan.
