  • Publication number: 20150169599
Abstract: Method, system, and software for the processing, offloading, retrieval, and efficient grouping of electronic mail message file attachments. Software processes and methods are disclosed that are used in server software, client software, and algorithms to process electronic mail attachments, store them to a local computer or remote server and to retrieve such attachments. Additionally, processes for automatically and logically grouping related attachments together according to a variety of heuristics are disclosed, as well as processes for automatically deleting or archiving attachments in response to detection that electronic mail messages are deleted.

  • Patent number: 8136739
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and system for predicting the availability of hot water for bathing. One or more parameters corresponding to the operation of a water heater are monitored over time and/or a temperature distribution of water in a hot water tank measured. Data corresponding to the monitored parameters and/or temperature distribution are processed to determine a rate at which hot water is being consumed by filling a bath and/or due to other hot water consumers and/or to determine a current hot water availability condition. Based on a hot water consumption rate and/or determination of a current hot water availability condition, a projection is made to whether there will be adequate hot water to fill the bathtub to a desired level or volume at a desired temperature.

  • Patent number: 7520445
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for predicting the availability of hot water for showering and bathing. One or more parameters corresponding to the operation of a water heater are monitored over time. Data corresponding to the monitored parameters are processed to determine a rate at which hot water is being consumed by the shower/bath and/or other hot water consumers. Based on a hot water consumption rate and determination of a current hot water availability condition, a time at which the temperature of hot water supplied by the water heater is projected to fall below a minimum temperature threshold is determined. In one embodiment, the apparatus include a thermal-modeling computer and a control/monitor interface that is disposed in or proximate to a shower. In one embodiment, the thermal-modeling computer is installed at a water heater and data is transmitted between the thermal-modeling computer and the control/monitor interface via a wireless signal.

  • Publication number: 20090068984
Abstract: Method, apparatus and system for controlling usage of mobile devices. Supervisor users, such as parents and managers, are enabled to define usage-level based rule sets that are employed to limit mobile device use by targeted users, such as children and employees. The rule sets may be employed to control access to outbound and incoming calls, as well as text messages, data transfers, and paid content. Warning trip points may also be set to provide warnings to users when corresponding usage levels have been reached during a given billing cycle. Various mechanism are disclosed for enabling specification of rule set parameters, including via a mobile device, a computer application, and a Web portal. Runtime operations may be performed via the mobile device, via service provider infrastructure, or via a combination of the two to control mobile device use in view of applicable rule sets and current service plan operating modes.

  • Publication number: 20080196043
Abstract: Methods, architectures, software/firmware and systems for enabling concurrent administration of host operating systems and virtual machine-hosted operating systems. Techniques are disclosed for monitoring and reporting various administrative data (e.g., performance data, event data, log data, etc.), as well as enabling allocation and reallocation of system resources, such as physical memory and disk space. The techniques support implementation of user-interfaces hosted by a virtual machine operating system or a host operating system that enable administrators and the like to manage operations of virtual machines and hosts via a unified interface. Moreover, the techniques support concurrent management of different operating system types.

  • Patent number: 7409726
Abstract: Methods for securing bibs to garments and related articles of clothing. Various schemes are disclosed for securing a bib to a mating garment using one or more points of attachment employing a respective mating pair of fastener halves at each point of attachment. The schemes include employment of a mating pair of fastener to secure the bib to a shoulder of a garment. Meanwhile, in some embodiments a mating pair of fastener is used to secure the lower portion of the bib to a chest area of the garment. Under other embodiments, a three-point attachment scheme is employed including using a pairs of fasteners to secure the straps of a bib to the shoulders of the garment and another mating pair of fasteners to secure the lower portion of the bib to the garment.
