  • Patent number: 12084827
Abstract: Sediment-control fences designed to withstand hydrostatic forces associated with elevated backwater against the fence are disclosed. The fences are made of anisotropic fabric having different mechanical properties such as strength and stiffness in the machine direction versus the transverse direction. The anisotropic fabric may include fibrillated yarns in one direction and monofilaments in another direction. The sediment-control fences may be used without the necessity of wire or chain-link backed supports that are conventionally used to resist structural failure due to hydraulic overtopping of the fences.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 22, 2023
Date of Patent: September 10, 2024
    Assignee: Friendly Environment 14 LP
Inventors: Thomas Kyle Segroves, Stephen Matthew Sliger, Kevin Brian Wolfe, R. Alan Sutton

  • Publication number: 20220290330
Abstract: Woven polymeric fabrics or materials with antimicrobial additives suitable for example for use in connection with diatomaceous earth pool filters, monofilament pool cartridge filters, and trampoline mats are disclosed. Examples of the woven polymeric fabric of the present invention includes a composition having a polymer and at least one antimicrobial additive. Methods of composing and weaving antimicrobial polymeric materials are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9777455
Abstract: A water-permeable woven geotextile fabric for providing soil reinforcement and/or stabilization, for example as an underlayment in road construction, utilizes a series of round warp fibers, in combination with a series of flat warp fibers, across the width of the fabric to increase water flow while still providing desired filtration. In particular, the round warp fibers form angles that allow greater amounts of water to pass through the fabric. In addition, using both round and flat warp fibers results in increased roughness of the fabric surface, which makes the fabric more resistant to being pulled out of the soil when pulled on. Furthermore, one or more of the round and/or flat warp fibers can include a color selected for high visibility to the human eye in daylight conditions.
