  • Publication number: 20040201126
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for extruding curved extrusion products (7a, 7b), whereby the extruded profile is formed in a die that is located upstream of a crosshead (4) of an extrusion installation (1) and is subsequently curved or bent by the action of external forces. The extruded strand (7a, 7b) is taken up at the press outlet by a bearing surface (10) that supports the underside of the strand. Once a partial length of strand has been separated, said length is moved (10) from the press flow and is transported away by the bearing surface, whereby the provision of a supporting surface for the subsequent strand is simultaneously maintained during said transportation by the bearing surface (10). To achieve this, a platform (10) that is located in the press outlet (5), that supports the extruded strand and that can be raised and lowered is divided into functional fields (A, B).

  • Patent number: 6434758
Abstract: A cleansing and freshening unit having a twofold purpose of spreading a fresh odor in a toilet room and introducing active substances into flushing water with each flush, the unit comprises a holder with unfoldable flexible suspension means for suspending the unit from the rim of a toilet bowl, a reservoir for active substance, such as liquid containing cleansing and air freshening agent, detachably connected to the holder, and a porous mass being arranged in the holder so as to be located in a path of the flushing water when the unit is suspended from the rim of the toilet bowl, said porous mass communicating with the active substance contained in the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 6293429
Abstract: A variable-rate, digitally controlled fluid metering device having an electronically controlled 3-way valve, a fluid reservoir, a float valve, a check valve and a pressure relief valve that accurately delivers low flow volumes. The flow rate of the device is the product of reservoir volume and pulse rate when the cycle is long enough to fill and empty the reservoir and is a linear combination of cycle time when the cycle is short enough that the reservoir does not fill or empty completely. This device allows the use of large orifice emitters for delivering low flow rates of fluids, which allows the use of lower quality fluids and/or reduces filtration steps and clogging of emitters.

  • Patent number: 6240852
Abstract: A highway-vehicle system for high speed travel which comprises a below-ground structure defining a cavity and a narrow slot extending upwardly therefrom to the roadway surface. Each vehicle in the system is equipped with a projecting member which, in its folded configuration, can be lowered into the slot. The projecting member includes a pair of stabilization wheels and a pair of hydraulically or pneumatically-actuated brake shoes. Once the projecting member has been lowered into the cavity, the wheels automatically unfold, so that they assume horizontal positions and press against opposing sidewalls of the cavity. With the wheels so deployed, the vehicle can be safely driven during high speed cornering and under windy conditions. The wheels can also be used to automatically steer each vehicle. In addition, the wheels are used to conduct electricity in the cavity sidewalls as part of the power takeoff for an electric vehicle.
