Abstract: A method and apparatus for ultrasonic welding a flexible pouch are disclosed. The apparatus includes a base having a top surface mounted extending at an angle from horizontal. An anvil is mounted to the base. A horn is mounted to move to and away from the anvil. A guide is provided for positioning the pouch on the base. A finger is movable to and away from the pouch and engages a lower portion of the pouch during welding.

Abstract: A diving nozzle for purging a package with gas, a fill machine with such a diving nozzle, and a method of purging a package are disclosed. The diving nozzle includes a straight hollow tube and a lower end extending transversely to the straight hollow tube. The lower end is arranged at an angle to the straight hollow tube. An axis of the lower end is arranged at an angle of 20° to 70° relative to a longitudinal axis of the straight hollow tube. A flow of purging gas is directed by the lower end towards a side of the package.

Abstract: A bed bug control composition and method of controlling bed bug populations is disclosed. The bed bug control composition includes plant-based active ingredients and inert ingredients. The active ingredients include active ingredients including peppermint oil, clove oil, and rosemary oil. The inert ingredients include mineral oil, isopropyl myristate, isopropyl alcohol, oleic acid, and ethyl lactate.

Abstract: A laminate container (e.g., a vial) is disclosed. The laminate container includes a body having a cavity and a peripheral portion that defines a seal. The body includes laminate sheet including an outer paper layer, a middle barrier layer joined with the outer layer, and an inner layer formed of a plastic material joined with the middle barrier layer. According to an example, the middle barrier layer is formed of aluminum.

Abstract: Embodiments herein are generally directed to a flexible pouch for holding a liquid. The pouch includes a front portion and a back portion defining a compartment, a fitment and a frangible seal. The fitment has a body with a pair of wings extending outwardly from a center portion. The center portion has a spout. The front portion, the fitment and the back portion are joined together by a top seal. The frangible seal join the front portion and back portion beneath the fitment. The frangible seal has one end positioned in a portion of the top seal under one of the pair of wings and another end positioned in a portion of the top seal under another of the pair of wings to separate the spout from the contents in the compartment.

Abstract: A laminate vial includes a first laminate sheet including an outer paper layer and a middle barrier layer joined with the outer layer, the middle barrier layer joined with an inner layer formed of a plastic material. Also included is a second laminate sheet including an outer paper layer and a middle barrier layer joined with the outer layer, the middle barrier layer joined with an inner layer formed of a plastic material. The first laminate sheet is joined to the second laminate sheet to define a seal and a cavity. Recycled materials may be used in all of the layers of the laminate.

Abstract: A method of preparing hydrogen water for consumption is disclosed. The method includes: providing a sealed pouch containing hydrogen-infused water; providing a sealed vial with a predetermined amount of magnesium; opening the sealed pouch and the sealed vial; and adding the predetermined amount of magnesium to the hydrogen-infused water inside the pouch to increase a hydrogen content of the hydrogen-infused water.

Abstract: A flexible pouch for alcoholic beverages and a method of making a flexible pouch are disclosed. The flexible pouch includes a front wall and a back wall defining a compartment. An opening structure is in fluid communication with the compartment. The front wall and/or the back wall is composed of a panel of film laminate. The film laminate includes an outer layer of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), a middle barrier layer, and an inner layer of polyethylene (PE). The front wall and the back wall are joined together by a top seal.

The pouch can be formed to represent various objects such as letters. The pouches can be formed with compartments for holding different components. Abstract: A flexible pouch kit that includes a flexible pouch having front and rear panels joined by peripheral seals defining a compartment. A bottom gusset is joined with the front and rear panels. A pair of side gussets are formed and positioned between the bottom gusset and a top peripheral seal of the front and rear panels. The pair of side gussets define an attachment area.
