  • Patent number: 6417285
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the production of a copolymer based on vinyl aromatic compounds and conjugated dienes, in which after polymerization, the copolymers are treated with multi-functional sulfur halides in the presence of a catalyst at temperatures in the range from 20 to 130° C. The copolymers produced according to the present invention demonstrate clearly improved processing characteristics as a result of selective masticating effect and good mechanical properties.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: July 9, 2002
    Assignee: Bayer Aktiengesellschaft
Inventors: Ellen Giebeler, Heinz-Dieter Brandt, Rüdiger Engehausen, Günter Marwede
  • Patent number: 6414098
Abstract: This invention relates to a catalyst system containing bisiminopyridyl complexes of cobalt and/or iron with bulky substituents on the bisiminopyridyl ligand, to a method for the polymerization of &agr;-olefins, particularly ethylene, and to the use of the polyolefins which can be produced by said method for the production of moldings of all types.
