  • Publication number: 20240026631
Abstract: A retrofit for existing wind turbine foundations including a perimetral structure around an outer perimeter of a base of the existing wind turbine foundation, a pedestal structure on top of a pedestal of the existing wind turbine foundation and at least three lever arms, wherein the lever arms extend radially from the pedestal structure to the perimetral structure and are angularly spaced wherein the lever arms connect the perimetral structure with the pedestal structure.

  • Patent number: 6593128
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for culturing ciliates comprising the steps of placing ciliates and medium therefor in a culture flask; providing said culture flask with a stirrer having a magnetic core, wherein said stirrer is suspended in the top part of the culture flask such that the stirrer does not touch the flask bottom, and wherein the motion of said stirrer is driven by means of a magnetic field; and stirring said ciliates in said culture medium.

  • Patent number: 5866378
Abstract: The present invention relates to processes for the enzymatic synthesis of nucleotide-6-deoxy-D-xylo-4-hexuloses starting from a nucleoside monophosphate (NMP). These processes comprise simultaneous incubation of the following substances in a buffer solution:(a) substrates comprising a nucleoside monophosphate, phosphoenolpyruvate, adenosine triphosphate, and sucrose; and(b) enzymes comprising pyruvate kinase, nucleoside-monophosphate kinase, sucrose synthase and deoxythymidine-D-glucose 4,6dehydratase.

  • Patent number: 5811539
Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved process for isolating and purifying sugar nucleotides, in particular cytidine monophosphate-activated N-acetylneuraminic acid (CMP-Nana), from biological sources. The sugar nucleotides can be obtained from a sugar nucleotide-containing solution, which has been freed of proteins by alcoholic precipitation, by means of an improved column-chromatographic method which uses silica gel as the stationary phase, and at a purity level which requires only a subsequent desalting step to obtain a substantially pure product.
