  • Publication number: 20110098470
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing the trisodium salt of 2,4,6-trimercapto-s-triazine, cyanuric chloride being reacted in an aqueous medium at a temperature of 20 to 70° C. using NaSH, Na2S or a mixture of the two compounds at a pH value of 7 to 11, and subsequently the trisodium salt of 2,4,6-trimercapto-s-triazine being precipitated and cleaved at a pH value of 0.12 and a temperature of 0 to 20° C., characterized in that after the cleavage step of the trisodium salt of 2,4,6-trimercapto-s-triazine the mother liquor is adjusted to a pH value of 6 to 8, wherein the monosodium salt of 2,4,6-trimercapto-s-triazine is precipitated.

  • Patent number: 6652986
Abstract: A method for preserving wood that includes impregnating the wood with a wood preservative agent based on one or more compounds of at least one metal of the 1st and/or 2nd subgroups of the periodic system and fixing the metal(s) for purposes of reducing the danger of leaching. The wood is (i) impregnated with a preservative containing a water-soluble zinc compound or (ii) wood that has already been impregnated with a zinc-free preservative or one that contains at least one metal compound of the 1st and/or 2nd subgroups is impregnated with a second preservative that contains at least one water-soluble zinc compound, and wood impregnated in accordance with (i) or (ii) is impregnated with an aqueous solution of a salt of trimercapto-s-triazine (TMT), dithiocarbamate or trithiocarbonate.
