    Abstract: The present invention pertains to antagonists and inhibitors of soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) and 19,20-dihydroxydocosapentaenoic acid (19,20-DHDP) for use as a therapeutic in the treatment of eye disorders that are characterized by pericyte loss and motility. The invention is useful for treating the non-proliferative form of diabetic retinopathy. Furthermore provided are methods for monitoring or diagnosing diabetic retinopathy, in particular in subjects at risk of developing the disorder, for example diabetic patients.
