  • Patent number: 9700367
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (10) for thermosurgery. The device (10) comprises a generator (12) for supplying high frequency electrical treatment energy, an interface connection arrangement (14) which permits the connection of a plurality of electrodes to be placed on or in the body of a patient (18), the electrodes comprising an application electrode (16) to be positioned in the area of the treatment site and a plurality of planar counter-electrodes (21, 22, 26, 27), and impedance measurement means (30, 35, 40) which permit impedance measurement in a plurality of measurement circuits, each of which passes via at least one counter-electrode (21, 22, 26, 27) connected to the interface connection arrangement (14).

  • Patent number: 9103730
Abstract: The invention relates to a temperature sensor (24) for measuring the temperature on or in a living body. The temperature sensor (24) includes a plurality of thermocouples arranged distributed on a measurement surface (30) of the sensor (24) and electrically connected to create at least one series circuit, wherein thermojunctions (16, 18) formed by the thermocouples in each series circuit are divided into at least two, and preferably a total of two, spatially separate groups such that in each group when there is a change in temperature the thermojunctions (16, 18) cause an equivalent change in voltage.

  • Patent number: 8361064
Abstract: An apparatus for the thermosurgical treatment of biological tissue comprises a generator (22) for providing treatment energy, measuring means (24) for registering the temporal progression of a measured quantity that is influenced by the tissue impedance of the treated body or representative of the tissue impedance, and also a control unit (26) which has been set up to ascertain a frequency spectrum within a predetermined examination frequency range for the temporal progression of the measured quantity and to control the energy output of the generator (22) in a manner depending on the spectral content of the measured quantity within the examination frequency range. The invention is based on the finding that the genesis of vapor bubbles in the heated tissue can be detected on the basis of the frequency spectrum of the tissue impedance, in particular within a frequency range between approximately 0.5 kHz and 200 Hz.

  • Patent number: 6592580
Abstract: An apparatus for the high-frequency treatment of body tissue comprises a head (10) which is provided with at least one HF electrode (14a, 14b, 14c) of an electrically conductive material. Optionally one electrode (14a, 14b) can be brought into contact with the tissue (24) to be treated and electrically activated. In order to avoid undesired temperature peaks provisions are made that the head supporting the HF electrode or the HF electrodes, respectively, comprises highly heat conductive portions (12) in order to dissipate heat generating at the HF electrode or the HF electrodes, respectively, in particular in the proximal direction.
