  • Patent number: 9527376
Abstract: In a method for detecting a running internal combustion engine in a hybrid vehicle, the internal combustion engine, as a first drive unit, and a second drive unit contribute toward driving the hybrid vehicle. To determine reliably whether the internal combustion engine is running during hybrid operation, an interference signal is actively introduced into the ongoing operating sequence of the internal combustion engine, and the response of the internal combustion engine to this interference signal is evaluated. If there is no response of the internal combustion engine, it is concluded that the internal combustion engine is not operating.

  • Patent number: 9206753
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for restarting an internal combustion engine, in which a first cylinder (ZYL1) has a low air level and a second cylinder (ZYL2) has a high air level, and wherein a predefined speed threshold value (ns) is selected as a function of said air levels. • Publication number: 20140100764
Abstract: A method is described for operating an internal combustion engine, the internal combustion engine including an angle of rotation sensor. In normal operation, a function is activated at a first angle of rotation. In stop operation, internal combustion engine is temporarily brought to a standstill. • Publication number: 20130166177
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for stopping an internal combustion engine, wherein an amount of air which is supplied via an air metering device of the internal combustion engine, in particular a throttle flap (100), is reduced after a stopping order has been detected. According to the invention, the amount of air which is supplied via the air metering device of the internal combustion engine is again increased when the detected speed (n) of the internal combustion engine falls below a predefinable speed threshold value (ns), wherein an intake cylinder (ZYL2) to which the amount of air is supplied does not enter any working cycle after the amount of supplied air has been increased.

  • Patent number: 7849673
Abstract: The invention relates to a procedure to heat up or keep warm an exhaust gas emission control assembly of a vehicle with a drive train containing one transmission. The drive train is powered by an internal combustion engine and at least one second drive unit. It is proposed that also in an operating state, which lies outside of the idle speed, a rotational speed or a torque of the internal combustion engine deviating from values for the engine rotational speed and the torque is set, which would exist during an identical driving condition without the heating-up or keeping warm of the exhaust gas emission control assembly.

  • Patent number: 7836865
Abstract: A method for starting an internal combustion engine that is operated with a fuel mixture made of at least two types of fuel. An injection of the fuel into combustion chambers of the internal combustion engine occurs starting at a predefined pressure threshold of the fuel in a fuel supply according to a high-pressure starting mode, and also according to a low-pressure starting mode if the predefined pressure threshold is no longer met. The pressure threshold is selected as a function of the mixture ratio of the fuel types in the fuel mixture. In this way it can be achieved that differences can be taken into consideration in the optimal mixture formation of the fuel types.
