  • Publication number: 20040237180
Abstract: A device for providing a temporary cover for drains and other holes is provided, according to the present invention, to prevent liquids from flowing therein. The inventive temporary covering device generally includes a sheet of flexible, liquid impermeable material having top and bottom surfaces. A pliable, liquid impermeable material is attached to the bottom surface of the sheet about a peripheral edge of the sheet. The pliable, liquid impermeable material includes an exposed surface that is tacky so that it may adhere to a surface surrounding the drain or other hole to prevent the flow of liquid therebetween.

  • Patent number: 6743354
Abstract: A catch basin is provided for insertion into a pre-existing storm drain connected to a storm drain system, the storm drain having a shoulder around its upper periphery for supporting a pre-existing, perforated storm drain cover. The catch basin selectively controls the flow of liquids and viscous materials into the storm drain system, and includes a flexible, fluid impermeable container extendable into the storm drain with its edges extendable over the storm drain shoulder about the periphery thereof. The flexible, fluid impermeable container includes a drain hole providing an outlet to the storm drain system. A rigid valve member is attached to the flexible, fluid impermeable container and is configured to selectively open and close the drain hole. The rigid valve member includes a vertically extending wall surrounding the drain hole and extending upward therefrom a distance h to define an opening.

  • Publication number: 20030203164
Abstract: An anti-fatigue mat is provided having a layer of absorbent material attached face-to-face to a layer of cushioning material. The layer of absorbent material has liquid absorbent properties, while the layer of cushioning material has shock absorption properties and is preferably liquid impermeable. While the layer of cushioning material may inherently have some liquid absorbent properties, its primary function is for shock absorption. The layer of absorbent material includes top and bottom surfaces, with the layer of cushioning material attached to the bottom surface of the layer of absorbent material. In one form, since the inventive mat may incur moderate to high foot traffic, a layer of wear-resistant material is attached to the top surface of the layer of absorbent material to increase the useful life of the inventive mat.

  • Patent number: 6548135
Abstract: An absorbent tablet is provided for the quick and convenient cleanup of persons, dirt, grime, spills, leaks, drips, sprays, etc. The absorbent tablet generally includes a substantially rigid backing sheet and a plurality of absorbent sheets stacked on top of the backing sheet, one on top of the other. Each of the absorbent sheets has absorbent properties for addressing dirt cleanup and liquid cleanup and containment. A binding element binds the backing sheet and the plurality of absorbent sheets together along one edge thereof to form the absorbent tablet. A weakened line is formed in each of the absorbent sheets along the one edge thereof adjacent the binding, enabling individual absorbent sheets to be torn and removed from the tablet. The absorbent tablet may be hung at an appropriate location for use via a hanging element connected to the backing sheet and designed for such purposes.

  • Patent number: 3960222
Abstract: A tool for being inserted in a hole, especially a hole in an earth formation, and adapted for being rotated in the hole. A cutting element moveably mounted on the tool is provided for cutting a groove in the hole and, if the tool is moved axially in the hole while rotating, a helical groove will result. The cutting element is retractable to permit removal of the tool from the hole. The hole with the groove formed therein is adapted for receiving a roof bolt or the like which is cemented in place and the aforementioned groove improves the strength with which the bolt is held in the hole.
