  • Publication number: 20030211294
Abstract: A multilayer composite for applying printed graphics to a receptive substrate, comprising: a carrier sheet; a transparent breakcoat having an upper surface releasably bonded to the carrier sheet, and a lower print receptive surface on which graphics are permanently printed; and a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive having an upper surface permanently adhered to the thus printed graphics, and a lower surface releasably adhered to a protective liner. The protective liner is separable from the adhesive without disrupting the bond between the carrier sheet and the breakcoat, and the adhesive, and the adhesive is removably bondable to the substrate during a wet out period, after which the carrier sheet is separable from the breakcoat, allowing the breakcoat/graphics/adhesive residue to remain firmly bonded to the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20030142185
Abstract: In one embodiment, a fluid ejection device comprises a substrate having a fluid slot defined from a first surface through to a second opposite surface; an ejection element formed over the first surface and that ejects fluid therefrom; and a filter having feed holes positioned over the fluid slot near the first surface. Fluid moves from the second surface through the feed holes to the ejection element. In a particular embodiment, the filter is formed of a first material that is surrounded by a second material. In another particular embodiment, the filter is formed from the back side and is formed of the same material as the substrate.

  • Patent number: 6475402
Abstract: An ink-jet printhead fabrication process and product that uses selectivity rate controlled etch techniques to produce trenches on the frontside of a silicon substrate to define ink feed channels and resistor support regions. Location and size of features is made independent of etch rate by providing a selective etch for the silicon trench etch steps that is greater than 10,000:1 for the silicon:oxide that defines ink feed channels and resistor support areas.

  • Patent number: 5403474
Abstract: A portable curb inlet sediment filter which has a box filter frame and a primary baffle panel defining a filter chamber, to be filled with a particulate filter medium, such as gravel, for sediment removal, and an overflow chamber. The overflow chamber has at least one overflow baffle panel in order to provide a hydraulic opening and a peripheral end cap chamber. The end cap chamber is gravel filled in order to clarify water escaping around the front of the frame and into the hydraulic opening through the side panel. The filter frame and baffle panels are a mesh construction having apertures smaller in size than the particles of gravel to be contained.

  • Patent number: 5039514
Abstract: This invention relates to toothpaste containing an alumina hydrate abrasive and a source of fluoride.According to the invention, there is provided a toothpaste containing a source of fluoride ions and unmilled, precipitated alumina trihydrate as an abrasive, wherein the alumina trihydrate particles have a median particle size of at least 3 micrometers. The median particle size of the alumina trihydrate is preferably below 30 micrometers, more preferably from 5 to 20 micrometers, and most preferably 8 to 12 micrometers. It has been found that the use of an unmilled alumina trihydrate, obtained by precipitation, substantially reduces the loss of available fluoride on storage whereas the use of a milled alumina trihydrate causes significant loss of available fluoride.

Abstract: This invention relates to toothpaste containing an alumina hydrate abrasive and flavoring.According to the invention, there is provided a toothpaste containing flavoring and unmilled, precipitated alumina trihydrate as an abrasive, wherein the alumina trihydrate particles have a median particle size of at least 3 micrometers. The median particle size of the alumina trihydrate is preferably below 30 micrometers, more preferably from 5 to 20 micrometers, and most preferably 8 to 12 micrometers. It has been found that the use of an unmilled alumina trihydrate, obtained by precipitation, reduces the amount of flavoring material required to obtain a given flavor strength when compared with an equivalent content of milled alumina trihydrate of similar particle size.
