  • Patent number: 7386459
Abstract: A method for filtered peer-to-peer business communication in a distributed computer environment includes accessing offers associated with one or more offerors and requests associated with one or more requestors, each offer and each request including a set of filter components. Filter components of offers are compared with corresponding filter components of requests to determine whether one or more offers match one or more requests. A match is determined between an offer and a request if the filter components of the offer match the corresponding filter components of the request. In response, at least a matching portion of the offer and request is replicated and communicated to both the offeror associated with the offer and the requestor associated with the request to provide filtered peer-to-peer communication between the offeror and requestor.

  • Publication number: 20070201132
Abstract: The optical path for a rear projection television is disclosed, having emission from a projection lens, an optional reflection from a turning mirror, reflection from a curved mirror, reflection from one or two flat mirrors, and projection onto the rear surface of a viewing screen. When two flat mirrors are present, there is one flat mirror parallel to the screen near the rear of the television cabinet, and the other flat mirror perpendicular to the screen near the top or the bottom of the cabinet. When only one flat mirror is present, it is located near the top or bottom of the cabinet, and is inclined with a small but finite angle toward the screen. The optional turning mirror can allow the lens barrel to be located in an otherwise unused part of the cabinet, and can further reduce the size of the cabinet. The pedestal height divided by the screen height may be less than roughly 1/10, and the casing depth divided by the screen height may be less than roughly ?.

  • Publication number: 20060274277
Abstract: High pressure mercury arc lamps are commonly used as the illumination source in many projection systems. Such lamps may be deficient in either output power or spectrum, and so it is desirable to combine the light from the lamp with light from a second light generator. The second light generator may be another mercury lamp or a solid state source, such as one or more light emitting diodes. Different ways of combining light from two light generators are described. The second light source may be an arrangement of a number of red LEDs that supplements the red light produced by the mercury light. A tunnel integrator may be used to homogenize the combined light beam and to reduce the angular separation between the light beams from the two light generators.

  • Publication number: 20060227570
Abstract: An illumination system, such as might be used for illuminating a projection system, includes at least a first source of incoherent light capable of generating light in a first wavelength range. The system also includes a body containing a fluorescent material that emits light in a second wavelength range, different from the first wavelength range, when illuminated by light in the first wavelength range. The body has an extraction area and at least some of the light at the second wavelength is internally reflected within the body to the extraction area.

  • Patent number: 7084356
Abstract: The replacement lid for an electromagnetic shielding device is generally planar with stenciled solder segments formed immediately inwardly adjacent from the periphery thereof. The replacement lid is installed onto an electromagnetic shielding device by placing the stenciled solder segments against the walls of the electromagnetic shielding device so that the unstenciled side of the replacement lid is exposed. The installer then applies a heat source to the unstenciled side of the replacement lid thereby melting the solder and forming a bond between the replacement lid and the shielding device. The replacement lid may be manufactured by securing the replacement lid between a platen and a stencil and using a squeegee to apply solder paste through the stencil onto the replacement lid.

  • Patent number: 7014373
Abstract: The present invention relates to a processing solution supply cartridge which utilizes a single container for a single-part developer concentrate. The single container has at least two valves or necks and is adapted to be utilized on a existing processor or processing machine. The single developer container design of the present invention assures a complete emptying of the container by permitting the simultaneous replenishment of single-part developer through each of the valves into the processing machine. With the combination of the single developer container and the single-part developer the process of metering distinct developers through distinct containers is not required. By facilitating the complete emptying of the developer container, the likelihood of developer solution remaining in the container is minimized.

  • Publication number: 20050151939
Abstract: A projection display system employs one or more color modifying aperture stops, such as apodizing aperture stops, to provide high contrast, balanced color and high throughput. One projection system includes a reflective liquid crystal-on-silicon light valve positioned with a polarizing beam splitter, such as a wire grid polarizing beam splitter, for each of the primary color component light paths to separately impart image information into each of the primary color components of light. A color combiner receives and combines the primary color components of light with imparted image information to provide light representing a polychromatic display image. At least one aperture stop is positioned along at least one of the primary color component light paths to balance relative intensities of the primary color components of light.

  • Publication number: 20050140932
Abstract: A compound polarization beam splitter (33) for use with a reflective, polarization-modulating, imaging device (10), e.g., a LCoS device, is provided. The compound PBS has: (a) an input prism (20); (b) an output prism (30), and (c) a polarizer (13), which is located between the two prisms (20,30) and which may be a wire grid polarizer (13a) or a multi-layer reflective polarizer (13b). Polarized illumination light (11) enters the input prism (20) through a first surface (21) and undergoes total internal reflection at a second surface (22) before being reflected from the polarizer (13) and polarization-modulated at the imaging device (10). The polarizer's tilt angle (?) is less than 45°, which reduces astigmatism and the required back working distance of the system's projection lens (74).

  • Patent number: 6901887
Abstract: A package water tube boiler has offset upper and lower steam and water drums located adjacent its opposite side walls, with a generally square combustion chamber between the drums. Connecting the drums are generally L-shaped riser and downcomer tubes including convection tubes and radiant tubes extending in vertical and horizontal runs along the sides, top, and bottom of the combustion chamber. The tubes, especially the inboard radiant tubes, are configured, and their entrances and exits to and from the drums are located, so as to permit increased efficiency and steam generation capacity without increasing the package boiler's outside dimensions, to shield the drums from thermal radiation emanating from the combustion chamber, to locate the boiler's center of gravity equidistant from its side walls, and to fix the upper drum to and support it by the boiler's end walls.

  • Publication number: 20050078383
Abstract: An optical system for focusing or collimating light from a semiconductor laser uses a combination of glass and plastic lenses. The glass lens provides a spherical surface for collimating the highly diverging light. The glass lens is relatively inexpensive, and is relatively thermally stable. The plastic lens provides correction for spherical aberration introduced by the glass lens, and may have an aspheric surface. A third lens may be used for focusing the light to a target. The third lens may be glass or plastic. Since the optical power of the plastic lens is low, the overall performance of the optical system is thermally stable, despite the use of plastic components.

  • Patent number: 6534253
Abstract: Photographic bleach-fixing solutions in a processing chamber can be directly replenished using a single-part photographic bleach-fixing “precursor” composition that comprises one or more iron-ligand complexes, one or more thiosulfates as the sole fixing agents, and optionally, a sulfite preservative. At least 50 mol % of the iron in the composition is in the form of Fe(II). Immediately prior to or during directly supplying the precursor composition to the processing chamber from an enclosed container, sufficient ferrous ions are converted to ferric ions to provide desired bleaching in the processing chamber.
