  • Patent number: 6962144
Abstract: The fuel injection system has least one magnet valve for controlling the fuel injection. The magnet valve is triggered by an electric control unit and has a magnet coil, a movable pistonlike magnet armature by which a valve member is movable between at least two positions, a magnetic disk by which the magnet armature is attracted when current flows through the magnet coil, and a cup-shaped capsule into which the magnet armature dips. The magnet armature is guided at least indirectly displaceably via its outer jacket in the capsule.

  • Publication number: 20040089831
Abstract: The fuel injection apparatus has at least one solenoid valve (50) for controlling the fuel injection. The solenoid valve (50) is triggered by an electrical control unit (52) and has a magnetic coil (88) and a movable magnetic armature (88). The magnetic armature (80) can move a valve element (56) between at least two positions. The magnetic armature (88) is at least essentially comprised of an alloy, which at least contains iron and cobalt, wherein the cobalt content is between 10% and 50%. The control unit (52) evaluates the chronological progression of the current conduction through the magnetic coil (88) and based on it, determines the time of a switching state of the solenoid valve (50) at which a fuel injection begins.

  • Patent number: 6276981
Abstract: The invention involves the making of a group of apertures spaced in a precise manner on a structure and including, for example, a first aperture made in a first layer and a second aperture made in a second layer which covers the first layer, the first aperture being located within the second aperture.

  • Patent number: 6210246
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a micropoint electron source with an extraction grid and a focusing grid. This process allows for precise alignment of the holes of the extraction grid with the apertures of the focusing grid by using a single photolithography step for making the holes in the extraction grid. Such a process may find particular application for making a micropoint electron source for a flat viewing screen.

  • Patent number: 6170466
Abstract: The invention relates to a quantity control valve for a fuel injection system, used in internal combustion engines, which includes a longitudinal slide that is movable in a valve housing between a first and a second control chamber and that allocates the fuel, flowing in from at least one low-pressure pump, to at least one high-pressure pump. For driving the longitudinal slide, the inflowing fuel is delivered into the first control chamber via a throttle or baffle valve, past the longitudinal slide. In the second control chamber, there is either a restoring spring that urges the longitudinal slide in the direction of its closing position, or the longitudinal slide there has an effective face-end surface area upstream of which a control line containing a throttle valve ends; this end face is smaller in surface area than the effective surface area of the face end in the first control chamber.

  • Patent number: 5839414
Abstract: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines, having a high-pressure pump, whose pump work chamber can be made to communicate on the intake side with a fuel tank via a supply line and on the compression side with a common rail via a high-pressure line, from which common rail a plurality of injection lines lead away to the individual injection valves, and having one pressure valve each in the supply line and the high-pressure line, by way of which a return flow of fuel out of the pump work chamber into the supply line and out of the high-pressure line into the pump work chamber is prevented. The pressure valve of the supply line and the pressure valve of the high-pressure line are disposed in a common valve combination.

  • Patent number: 5746168
Abstract: A cylinder head cover of an internal combustion engine with a solenoid-controlled injection device using pump-nozzle units designed so that the solenoid valves are supplied with power in a manner that is advantageous from the manufacturing point of view and provides reliable operation. For this purpose, the cylinder head cover covers the entire injection device and contact elements designed as inserts are injected into the cylinder head cover made of plastic in an injection molding process. The contact elements automatically come into a close-fitting contact with contact surfaces mounted on the outside of the solenoid valves when the cylinder head cover is mounted on a cylinder head. The contact elements are combined with contact segments in a central connector mounted on the outside of the cylinder head cover, wherein the power is supplied for the solenoid valves centrally from a controller.
