Publication number: 20230334360Abstract: Systems and methods implement a Swiss tournament to determine which of a plurality of candidate feature variables provide the best predictive ability for a target variable. The Swiss tournament is advantageous when there are so many candidate feature variables that it is computationally infeasible to test all combinations of these candidates. Each candidate feature has an aggregate score that identifies how well it contributes to a model's prediction accuracy. With each iteration, or “round” of the Swiss tournament, the candidates are ranked and divided into subsets. All of the candidates within each subset are then used to train the model. Model-independent permutation techniques determine each candidate's contribution to the model's predictive accuracy, from which each candidate's score is then updated. Low-performing candidates may be removed from consideration, thereby speeding up subsequent iterations.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 14, 2021Publication date: October 19, 2023Applicant: KOCH BUSINESS SOLUTIONS, LPInventors: Maxim KORMILITSIN, Nathan R. Patent number: 11777867Abstract: Commitments against various resources can be dynamically adjusted for customers in a shared-resource environment. A customer can provision a data volume with a committed rate of Input/Output Operations Per Second (IOPS) and pay only for that commitment (plus any overage), for example, as well as the amount of storage requested. The customer can subsequently adjust the committed rate of IOPS by submitting an appropriate request, or the rate can be adjusted automatically based on any of a number of criteria. Data volumes for the customer can be migrated, split, or combined in order to provide the adjusted rate. The interaction of the customer with the data volume does not need to change, independent of adjustments in rate or changes in the data volume, other than the rate at which requests are processed.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 2022Date of Patent: October 3, 2023Assignee: Amazon Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Tate Andrew Certain, Roland Paterson-Jones, James R. Hamilton, Sachin Jain, Matthew S. Garman, David N. Sunderland, Danny Wei, Fiorenzo Cattaneo

Publication number: 20230283633Abstract: The technology described herein identifies and mitigates phishing attempts by analyzing user input received at the operating system level. Initially, a credential, such as a username or password, is registered with the threat detection system. The technology described herein intercepts user input at the operating system level, generates a hash of the input, and compares it with a hash of a credential being monitored. A credential entry is detected when a hash for the character string entered matches a hash for a credential being monitored. The technology described herein will perform a threat assessment when a secret entry is detected. The threat assessment may use the application context and the network context as inputs to the assessment. Various mitigation actions may be taken when a threat is detected.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2022Publication date: September 7, 2023Inventors: Paresh MAISURIA, Ali ALABBAS, Abhishek SAGAR, Mara Beth FORTINI, Rupo ZHANG, Christian STOCKWELL, Michael David MCCORMACK, Jason Joseph WEBER, Charles J.
