  • Publication number: 20240084535
Abstract: A liquid retaining barrier comprises a plurality of vertically stacked members, each member having first and second ends, a length between the first and second ends, first and second sides, and top and bottom faces. An outer shell extends around a perimeter formed by the first and second sides and first and second faces of the member, and defines an inner core space. A conduit comprising a compression reinforcement material is positioned in the inner core space and forms an approximately parabolic curve extending between the first and second ends. A side of the outer shell is tangent to the curve of the conduit at about the mid-point of the length of the member.

  • Patent number: 11400287
Abstract: An implantable neurostimulation system comprises a stimulation delivery lead and a neurostimulator. The stimulation delivery lead is coupled to an electrode. The neurostimulator is adapted to deliver a neurostimulation signal to the subject and comprises a microprocessor. The microprocessor is programmed to identify a stimulation operating window for the therapy including a first threshold and a second threshold. The second threshold comprises an awake level and an asleep level. Identifying the stimulation operating window comprises titrating a stimulation setting of the neurostimulator while the subject is awake until the first threshold and the awake level of the second threshold are identified. Identifying the stimulation operating window further comprises subsequently repeating the step of titrating the stimulation setting of the neurostimulator while the subject is asleep until the asleep level of the second threshold is identified.

  • Patent number: 11000208
Abstract: Devices and methods for treating obstructive sleep apnea by first performing an assessment of the patient that involves observing the patient's upper airway during a tongue protrusion maneuver. The assessment may, for example, be done using endoscopy to observe the upper airway while the patient is awake in the supine position. An adequate response of the upper airway during the tongue protrusion maneuver is indicative of likely therapeutic success with hypoglossal nerve stimulation, and may be used for making clinical decisions. The principles of the present invention may be applied to other therapeutic interventions for OSA involving the upper airway.

  • Patent number: 9162399
Abstract: Elongate, composite-material, hollow rebar structure, along with associated components, related fabrication apparatus, and apparatus-implemented, rebar-structure-making methodology. The rebar structure has a long axis, and includes (a) an elongate, hollow core centered on that long axis, (b) an elongate, hollow sleeve having inner and outer surfaces, circumsurrounding the core along the core's length, with the sleeve's inner surface bonded to the core's outer surface along the length thereof, and (c) longitudinally distributed, radial-dimensionality, external-purchase-enhancing structure formed unitarily with the sleeve's outer surface along the length thereof. The bond existing between the core and the sleeve takes the form of a single-cure, reverse-temperature-gradient-cure, plastic-material, molecular bond.
