  • Patent number: 4611210
Abstract: A programmed turnaround generator for a mechanically scanned antenna, to provide an n-bar scan pattern (n may be 1), with predetermined inputs to the generator comprising a desired turnaround time, a maximum excursion of the antenna in azimuth, and a start position for each bar, is mechanized using closed form equations such as:AZ.sub.t =C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 .multidot.(t').sup.2EL.sub.t =C.sub.3 +C.sub.4 .multidot.t'.multidot.(.vertline.t'.vertline.-C.sub.5)where t' is a function of a real time clock, C.sub.1 is the azimuth position at the middle of the turnaround. C.sub.2 is a multiplier for azimuth. C.sub.3 is the elevation position at the middle of the turnaround. C.sub.4 is an elevation multiplier, and C.sub.5 is the desired time of offbar or turnaround time.

  • Patent number: 4571590
Abstract: A system for adaptively adjusting a radar's receiver attenuation of input signals having a wide dynamic range to maintain the attenuated signals within a predetermined range for radar post processing operations is disclosed. The system includes an automatic gain control (AGC) loop governed by a computed logarithmic signal representative of the measured clutter content of the input signals received over the time interval of a radar look and a compatible reference logarithmic signal to generate a logarithmic adjustment signal for the receiver attenuation. The AGC loop includes selectable loop gains which are selected as a function of the computed logarithmic signal. More specifically, one set of loop gains is selected when the computed logarithmic signal is equal to or greater than a threshold level, and another set of loop gains is selected when the computed logarithmic signal is less than the threshold level.

  • Patent number: 4463297
Abstract: A controller is described for limiting the rate and acceleration of a device positioned by at least one actuator which responds to a sequence of position commands separated by time intervals incorporating a subtractor for taking the difference of two consecutive position commands to provide a difference signal in vector form, means for determining the magnitude of the difference signal, a comparator for comparing the magnitude of the difference signal with a predetermined value, a switch for coupling the desired position command to the actuator at times the magnitude of the difference signal is less than or equal to the predetermined value, two dividers, two multipliers, an adder and normalizer for providing a new position command between the past command and the desired position command at times the magnitude of the difference signal exceeds the predetermined value.
