  • Patent number: 11976315
Abstract: The invention provides recombinant algal mutants that have a genetic modification to a gene or nucleic acid sequence encoding a WD40 repeat containing protein or domain. The genetic modification of one or more nucleic acid sequences encoding a WD40 repeat containing protein or domain results in a mutant organism with increased lipid productivity and/or higher biomass productivity (as measured by total organic carbon). The genetic modification can be a gene attenuation or functional deletion. The lipid products of these mutants can be utilized as biofuels or for other specialty chemical products. Methods of making and using the recombinant algal mutants and methods of producing lipids are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20240009882
Abstract: A cordless aw is provided with regenerative braking means that increases the number of repeated cuttings the saw is able to perform (x) per full discharge cycle of the battery pack, as compared to the number of repeated cuttings achievable by the same saw not employing a regenerative braking means (y) per full discharge cycle of the battery pack, such that x/y is approximately at least one of the following: i) 1.1 when cutting a Pressure-Treated (PT) lumber workpiece having a cross-sectional size of approximately 89 mm×89 mm±2 mm, ii) 1.15 when cutting a Spruce Pine Fir (SPF) lumber workpiece having a cross-sectional size of approximately 38 mm×89 mm±2 mm, or iii) 1.25 when cutting Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) workpiece having a thickness of approximately 19 mm±1 mm and a width of approximately 76 mm±2 mm.

  • Patent number: 11173557
Abstract: A miter saw has a base assembly, a table rotatably disposed on the base assembly, a support section rotatably connected to the table, a guide bar fixedly attached to and extending forwardly from the support section, and a saw assembly sliding along the guide bar. The saw assembly is pivotable downwardly for cutting a workpiece disposed on the table. A handle is disposed adjacent to a forward end of the guide bar. The handle is movable between a first position for fixing a rotational position of the support section relative to the table, and a second position for allowing rotational movement of the support section relative to the table.

  • Patent number: 11095036
Abstract: Antennas for radiating radio frequency energy that are integrated into a structure are provided. In particular, one or more nonconductive slots are formed in one or more convex layers or surfaces of a structure. Moreover, each nonconductive slot can be associated with one or more feeds. In at least some embodiments, the structure is an airfoil with a first convex surface joined to a second convex surface along an edge, and the at least one nonconductive slot extends from a point in the first surface or a layer of the structure including the first surface across the edge to a point in the second surface or a layer of the structure including the second surface.

  • Patent number: 9833924
Abstract: A miter saw is provided. The miter saw includes a table for supporting a workpiece; a fence located on the table; and a beveling arm for supporting a saw blade, the fence operatively connected to the arm to move the fence when the blade is beveled so that the blade does not contact the fence when the blade is moved toward the table. A method of locating a workpiece near a saw blade is provided. The method may include moving an adjustable section of fence near a path the saw blade will travel by beveling the saw blade; and moving a workpiece to contact the fence near the saw blade path.

  • Patent number: 8989015
Abstract: A method and apparatus for addressing a congestion condition in a communication network are disclosed. For example, the method receives an alert for at least one of: a trunk or a Permanent Virtual Circuit (PVC), where the trunk or the PVC is associated with a route. The method determines whether the alert is associated with a congestion condition by determining whether a trunk utilization has exceeded a first predetermined threshold for the trunk or for the at least one trunk supporting the PVC. The method then rebuilds the route if the first predetermined threshold is exceeded for the trunk or for the at least one trunk supporting said PVC.
