  • Patent number: 7488004
Abstract: A swivelable vacuum hose coupler of a grooming clipper vacuum attachment includes a front attachment member attachable to a suction head of the vacuum attachment, a rear hose attachment member attachable to an end of a vacuum hose, and an annular swivel collar rigidly attached to a rear end portion of the front attachment member and rotatably coupled to a front end portion of the rear attachment member so as to hold the rear end portion of the front attachment member in an abutting relationship with the front end portion of the rear attachment member and the front attachment member in flow communication with the rear attachment member and to form a swivel joint with the rear attachment member such that the front attachment member can rotate at the swivel joint relative to the rear attachment member and thereby allow the rear attachment member to remain in a stationary position relative to the front attachment member.

  • Publication number: 20030101591
Abstract: A vacuum attachment mountable on a forward end of a hair grooming clipper includes a conduit body enclosing an internal air flow passage between inlet and outlet ends thereof such that flow of hair cuttings entrained in air can be drawn from front cutting blades of a cutting head mechanism of the clipper via the inlet end through the passage to an external hose coupled to the outlet end, and mounting wings integrally and externally formed on the conduit body and extending from opposite sides thereof such that the conduit body and mounting wings define a replacement cover that can substitute for and replace the original equipment cover removed from the forward end of the casing of the clipper in order to enclose the opening in the forward end of the casing of the clipper.

  • Patent number: 5924202
Abstract: A variable vacuum attachment for a hair grooming clipper includes a body and a coupler connected to the body and having an end receiving an end of a hose connected to a vacuum source. The body is a suction head mounted on the hair grooming clipper and defining an air flow passage. A vacuum applied to the body through the coupler and hose will induce a hair cuttings-entrainable flow of air from the cutting head end of the clipper through the air flow passage of the body and therefrom through the coupler to the hose. The coupler has open opposite ends and an internal air flow channel extending therebetween. A vacuum relief mechanism on the coupler includes a vacuum relief port in an annular wall thereof intermediate between the open opposite ends of the channel for providing adjustable flow communication between the channel and the exterior of the coupler.

  • Patent number: 5881462
Abstract: A conforming vacuum attachment includes a body defining an internal chamber, an adhesive substance for securing the body to a hair grooming clipper at a location adjacent to a set of cutting blades thereof, and a tubular member integral with the body and in communication with the internal chamber defined by the body for receiving and transporting hair clippings away from the set of cutting blades of the hair grooming clipper by means of a vacuum generated flow of air through the internal chamber. The body has a top wall, a pair of opposite side walls, a rear wall defining an opening, and a front edge on the top wall and opposite side walls.

  • Patent number: 5088199
Abstract: A suction attachment for a hair grooming clipper includes a suction head having a vacuum relief port and a flexible sealing lid for covering the port. The relief port communicates between an internal air flow passage in the suction head and the exterior of the suction head. The sealing lid is movable by a user's finger to regulate the degree of relief of the vacuum provided by the port. The suction head has a flow constriction defined in the air flow passage midway between a front inlet and a rear outlet and proximate the location of the relief port such that regulation of vacuum relief occurs at the region of the passage where the air pressure is highest and air velocity is lowest. Also, a hollow tubular extension at one end can be inserted in the relief port when the port is completely open to prevent clogging of the open port by hair entering the port from the exterior of the suction head.

  • Patent number: 4706326
Abstract: A dual mode hair vacuum and dryer unit includes a cabinet with separate upper and lower compartments. An air pump in the cabinet has its suction inlet in the lower compartment and pressure outlet in the upper compartment for creating airflow through the air pump from the lower to the upper compartment. An air filter is disposed across the suction inlet of the air pump. A vacuum attachment connects to an air inlet nozzle on the cabinet for communicating vacuum airflow from a vacuum nozzle to the suction inlet of the air pump, via the lower compartment, which entrains hair cuttings in the vacuum airflow. A dryer attachment connects to an air outlet nozzle on the cabinet for communicating positive pressure airflow from the pressure outlet of the air pump to a drying nozzle, via the upper compartment, to dry hair.
