Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method, system, and storage medium for providing lead services by a host system over a computer network. The method comprises receiving a referral for a lead from a networker; generating a lead alert message using information provided in the referral, the lead alert message comprising minimal information about the lead; associating the lead with at least one client; and transmitting the lead alert message to the client along with an invitation to accept the lead. The invitation includes a time for acceptance. Upon acceptance of the lead by a client, the host system provides access to comprehensive information about the lead. The lead describes a need for products or services by a purchasing entity.
