  • Patent number: 7847562
Abstract: A resistive fault condition detector for conducting one or more tests of a circuit to detect a resistive fault condition. The detector includes means for determining changes in current through a load during the test, and means for measuring changes in first and second voltages respectively between the circuit's live and neutral conductors and between the circuit's neutral and ground conductors during the test, the changes in the first and second voltages corresponding to the changes in the current respectively. The detector also includes means for calculating apparent source impedances for the live and neutral conductors respectively, based on the changes in current and the measured changes in the first and second voltages respectively, and means for calculating an estimated source impedance for each of the live and neutral conductors for the test.

  • Patent number: 7469214
Abstract: An inventive process is disclosed for linking credentialing information with a medical malpractice insurance application. The credentialing information is automatically transferred from the credentialing questionnaire to an insurance application, and this credentialing information is then used to generate a medical malpractice insurance policy. The medical malpractice insurance policy is a two year policy, in order to coincide with the required re-credentialing of the healthcare provider. The inventive process also includes linking an information database, not created for insurance purposes, with an insurance application.

  • Publication number: 20080306862
Abstract: The present invention sets forth a system, method, and computer program product for automating an interaction between a buyer and an electronic, variable, dynamic pricing online auction service. The method can include receiving a registration of a buyer at an Internet enabled buyer bidding site, a portfolio, and account information. The method can also receive entered information about financial transaction instruments, contact information, and product preferences in an auction profile. The method can receive a search query for a desired product from product auctions of a plurality of auction sites and can use a search agent or a meta-search agent, and can provide returned auctions, including retrieving and presenting current status of product auctions. The method can receive a selection of returned auctions to store in the portfolio for tracking by scan agents and for bidding by bid proxies.

  • Publication number: 20080262876
Abstract: A method for underwriting insurance in between recredentialing periods is disclosed, the method including obtaining a release of associated credentialing information, wherein the associated credentialing information is released from an associated credentialing entity to an associated insurance entity, providing the associated insurance entity access to the associated credentialing information, and updating the associated credentialing information with updated associated credentialing information, the updated associated credentialing information being collected from the associated credentialing entity by the associated insurance entity.

  • Publication number: 20080243302
Abstract: A sorting system may include a sorting apparatus coupled to a programmable control system which is configured to actuate the sorting apparatus so that it assembles similar products for packaging in an arbitrary, user imposed order or selection bias. In preferred implementations, a user may activate a biasing protocol pursuant to which items bearing certain images appear with a disproportionate frequency on the top of a stack of items such that the selected images are the most common images viewable through a transparent product packaging. In certain implementations, empirical sales data is used to determine weighting factors used in the biasing protocol. In still other implementations, a more specific ordering protocol is imposed by a user such that some or all of the sequence of items in a stack or collection is arbitrarily imposed.

  • Publication number: 20080183566
Abstract: A show including a series of episodes. Each one of the episodes includes a plot which varies with each one of the episodes and a plurality of characters who are affiliated with a service company. The service company is involved with a plurality of different commodities which are commercially available outside of the show. At least one of the characters has a role in some or all of the episodes. Each of the episodes includes at least one noncomplimentary act that is performed by at least one of the characters. The noncomplimentary act does not expressly compliment the commodity and is performable to produce a promotional effect for at least one of the commodities with respect to one or more viewers of the episode.
