  • Patent number: 11584997
Abstract: A method of colorizing stainless steel strip involves the continuous surface treatment of stainless steel strip with aqueous suspensions of rare earth oxide nano or micro particles or aqueous rare earth nitrate solutions of nano or micro particles. The surface treatment can be applied by roll coating, spraying or other conventional application techniques. The coated strip is then continuously annealed. The surface treatment can provide a variety of colors. It also improves corrosion resistance of the processed stainless steel strip. Steel strip treated in this manner is suitable for a variety of applications in the building systems, automotive and appliance markets.

  • Patent number: 11580634
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a system for assessing the surface of an object for detecting contamination or other defects. During operation, the system obtains an input image indicating the contamination on the object and generates a synthetic image using an artificial intelligence (AI) model based on the input image. The synthetic image can indicate the object without the contamination. The system then determines a difference between the input image and the synthetic image to identify an image area corresponding to the contamination. Subsequently, the system generates a contamination map of the contamination by highlighting the image area based on one or more image enhancement operations.

  • Patent number: 11580450
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a system for facilitating efficient dataset management. During operation, the system obtains a first dataset comprising a plurality of elements. The system then determines a set of categories for a respective element of the plurality of elements by applying a plurality of AI models to the first dataset. A respective category can correspond to an AI model. Subsequently, the system selects a set of sample elements associated with a respective category of a respective AI model and determines a second dataset based on the selected sample elements.

  • Patent number: 11508169
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a system for generating synthetic images with localized editing. During operation, the system obtains a source image and a target image for image synthesis and selects a semantic element from the source image. The semantic element indicates a semantically meaningful part of an object depicted in the source image. The system then determines the style information associated with the source and target images. Subsequently, the system generates a synthetic image by transferring the style of the semantic element from the source image to the target image based on the feature representations. In this way, the system can facilitate localized editing of the target image.

  • Patent number: 11450201
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to methods and apparatus that monitor pedestrian traffic and that adjust the behavior of traffic signals at intersections and “walk”-“do not walk” indicators associated with particular crosswalks. Methods and apparatus consistent with the present disclosure may receive image or sensor data, may monitor the status of different traffic flow, and may adjust the timing of signal lights or walking indications as conditions change at an intersection. In certain instances, a traffic controller at one intersection may receive information collected by other traffic controllers along a set of streets that lead to a particular intersection. Traffic controllers that receive images of an intersection may identify partition the intersection into a set of safe and unsafe zones as those traffic controllers identify when pedestrians can safely cross an intersection.

  • Patent number: 11443495
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide a system for facilitating dynamic assistance to a user in an augmented reality (AR) environment of an AR device. During operation, the system detects a first element of an object using an object detector, wherein the object is associated with a task and the first element is associated with a step of the task. The system then determines an orientation and an alignment of the first element in the physical world of the user, and an overlay for the first element. The overlay can distinctly highlight one or more regions of the first element and indicate how the first element fits in the object. The system then applies the overlay to the one or more regions of the first element at the determined orientation in the AR environment.

  • Publication number: 20220076072
Abstract: One embodiment provides a system that facilitates efficient collection of training data. During operation, the system obtains, by a recording device, a first image of a physical object in a scene which is associated with a three-dimensional (3D) world coordinate frame. The system marks, on the first image, a plurality of vertices associated with the physical object, wherein a vertex has 3D coordinates based on the 3D world coordinate frame. The system obtains a plurality of second images of the physical object in the scene while changing one or more characteristics of the scene. The system projects the marked vertices on to a respective second image to indicate a two-dimensional (2D) bounding area associated with the physical object.

  • Patent number: 11210936
Abstract: Methods and apparatus consistent with the present disclosure may receive different sets of image or sensor data that may be compared for inconsistencies. Each of these sets of received data may include images of a roadway or intersection that are processed to identify objects and object locations at or near the roadway/intersection. In certain instances data received from a camera at a traffic control system may be compared with data received from a computer at a vehicle. Alternatively or additionally, different sets of data acquired by a same or by different cameras may be compared for discrepancies. When one or more discrepancies are identified in different sets of received data, corrective actions may be initiated. In certain instances, such corrective actions may include recalibrating an image acquisition system or may include sending message to a vehicle computer that identifies the discrepancy.
