  • Publication number: 20240406106
Abstract: A system and method for management and processing of resource requests is provided. A content delivery network service provider receives a DNS query from a client computing device. The DNS query corresponds to a requested resource from the client computing device. The content delivery network service provider associates the client computing device with a cluster of other client computing devices. Based on routing information for the cluster, the content delivery network service provider routes the DNS query. The process can further include monitoring performance data associated with the delivery of the requested resource and updating the routing information for the cluster based on the performance data for use in processing subsequent requests from client computing devices in the cluster.

  • Publication number: 20240350123
Abstract: A surgical adapter assembly is configured to interconnect an interface of a powered surgical system with a manually-operable surgical instrument. The surgical adapter assembly includes a frame, a proximal assembly, and a drive train assembly. A first drive member of the proximal assembly is configured to selectively engage a first motor of the interface. The drive train assembly includes a first pulley positioned on the first drive member, a first lead screw, a second pulley positioned on the first lead screw, a first belt engaged with the first pulley and the second pulley, and a first carriage threadedly engaged with the first lead screw. • Publication number: 20240337370
Abstract: A portable neck light includes a neck band having an arm extending to a distal end, the distal end defining a rotation axis. A light head is coupled to the distal end of the arm. A shaft is coupled to the light head and the neck band to allow rotation of the light head relative to the neck band about the rotation axis within a rotation plane. The light head is supported for continuous movement within an angular range of motion about the rotation axis.

  • Publication number: 20240214460
Abstract: A system and method for content distribution are provided. A content provider generates a network topology having one or more subnetworks made up of content sources. The content provider segments content, such as applications, into segments for distribution. The content provider then distributes the content such that for each identified subnetwork, each content segment is distributed to a content source. Subsequent, client computing device requests for content can be serviced by selecting a content source in a particular subnetwork selected for delivering the requested content to the client computing device to minimize traffic flow of the requested content through the nodes of the distribution network.

  • Patent number: 12021181
Abstract: The disclosed technology relates to a battery utilizing an indicator to orient an unopposed portion of a cathode or anode with respect to a battery can, and a tag to generate an electromagnetic field to mitigate or eliminate an electromagnetic field generated by the unopposed portion of the cathode or anode. The battery includes a wound set of layers including a cathode, an anode, and a separator; a can housing the wound set of layers; a lid disposed atop of the can to enclose the wound set of layers within the can; and a tag coupled to the lid. An unopposed portion of the cathode or anode generates a first electromagnetic field. The tag generates a second electromagnetic field to oppose the first electromagnetic field.

  • Publication number: 20240086749
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media for a service for managing quantum computing resources are disclosed. A task management service receives a description of a task specified by a client. From a pool of computing resources of a provider network, the service selects a quantum computing resource for implementation of the task. The quantum computing resource comprises a plurality of quantum bits. The service causes the quantum computing resource to run a quantum algorithm associated with the task. The service receives one or more results of the quantum algorithm from the quantum computing resource.

  • Patent number: 11811657
Abstract: A system, method, and computer-readable medium for updating request routing information associated with client location information are provided. A content delivery network service provider receives a DNS query from a client computing device. The DNS query corresponds to a resource identifier for requested content from the client computing device. The content delivery network service provider obtains a query IP address corresponding to the client computing device. Based on routing information associated with the query IP address, the content delivery network service provider routes the DNS query. The process further includes monitoring performance data associated with the transmission of the requested resource and updating routing information associated with the query IP address based on the performance data for use in processing subsequent requests from the client computing device.

  • Patent number: 11759040
Abstract: A locking system that controls access to a parcel storage box having a lockable door or lid with an electrically controllable locking mechanism. The locking system includes an optical scanner for scanning a barcode on a parcel that includes tracking information. A communication module transmits the tracking information to a separate computing system over a wireless network and then receives a response from the computing system indicating whether or not the transmitted barcode information is associated with an expected delivery. Electrical circuitry opens the locking mechanism if the tracking information is associated with an expected delivery.

  • Patent number: 11444641
Abstract: A data storage system includes multiple head nodes and data storage sleds. The data storage sleds include multiple mass storage devices and a sled controller. Respective ones of the head nodes are configured to obtain credentials for accessing particular portions of the mass storage devices of the data storage sleds. A sled controller of a data storage sled determines whether a head node attempting to perform a write on a mass storage device of a data storage sled that includes the sled controller is presenting with the write request a valid credential for accessing the mass storage devices of the data storage sled. If the credentials are valid, the sled controller causes the write to be performed and if the credentials are invalid, the sled controller returns a message to the head node indicating that it has been fenced off from the mass storage device.
