  • Patent number: 10952707
Abstract: An optical fiber coupling system may include a first coupler half fixed to a first fiber optic element. The first coupler half may include a first magnetically energetic material. The first magnetically energetic material may include a first aperture extending through the first magnetically energetic material. The first fiber optic element may extend within the first aperture. The optical fiber coupling system may include a second coupler half fixed to a second fiber optic element. The second coupler half may include a second magnetically energetic material. The second magnetically energetic material may include a second aperture extending through the second magnetically energetic material. The second fiber optic element may extend within the second aperture. When the first magnetically energetic material is proximate the second magnetically energetic material, the first fiber optic element may be longitudinally aligned with the second fiber optic element.

  • Patent number: 9641693
Abstract: Billing method for billing a call to a user identified with an identification card (2) in a telecommunication network. The duration of the calls is determined by a GPS receiver. The identification card further preferably comprises downloaded scales of charges, the billed amount depending on the determined duration of the call and on the stored scales of charges. Advantage: the determined time can not be falsified by the user.

  • Patent number: 8366255
Abstract: A solid ink stick for use in an imaging device, such as a phase change inkjet printer, is provided. The solid ink stick has a retrieval feature located on a top surface thereof. When the ink stick is incorrectly loaded through the insertion opening of a feed channel of the printer, the retrieval feature has a vertical dimension such that the ink stick can be grasped, such as by two fingers of a user, to remove the ink stick through the insertion opening. The retrieval feature generally includes two lower surfaces interconnected with at least one upper surface.

  • Publication number: 20120009166
Abstract: The invention provides methods of using isolated monocyte populations to treat subjects suffering from various ocular vascular disease or ocular degenerative disorders. The present invention also provides novel methods for isolating substantially pure monocyte populations. The methods involve extracting a blood sample or a bone marrow sample from a subject, debulking red blood cells from the sample, and then separating remaining red blood cells and other cell types in the sample from monocytes. Instead of using any selection or labeling agents, the red blood cells and other cell types are separated from monocytes based on their size, granularity or density. The isolated monocytes can be further activated in vitro or ex vivo prior to being administered to a subject. Isolated cell populations containing substantially pure CD14+/CD33+ monocytes are also provided in the invention.
