  • Patent number: 7014390
Abstract: A drainage member for use in promoting the drainage of water away from a substrate positioned adjacent the drainage member which includes an elongated, longitudinally extending base formed of a flexible material and having a plurality of outwardly extending projections. The projections are spaced from one another to form drainage channels between the projections. The elongated base has a plurality of expansion zones formed of the flexible material and extending generally transversely of the longitudinal extent thereof, the expansion zones comprising a deformation of the flexible material that absorbs longitudinal expansion of such material when it is exposed to heat without any significant increase in the longitudinal length of the drainage member.

  • Patent number: 4793977
Abstract: A new and improved on-site method for protecting an internal combustion engine in the field for maximizing service time by determining the change point of the lubricating oil. The on-site method utilizes a new colorimetric method and apparatus which serves as an indicator of the amount of acid build-up in the lubrication oil. The apparatus is a test strip formed from a polymeric matrix comprised of ion-rich domains known as an ionomer. A dye is bonded to the ion-rich domains and then activated by dipping the test strip in a basic solution.

  • Patent number: 4690741
Abstract: A method of treating fluids containing impurities by means of an electrochemical reactor consisting of at least one pair of opposed main electrodes, a power source capable of generating an alternating current connected to the main electrodes, and a plurality of auxiliary electrodes disposed between the main electrodes which are uniformly arranged in a mutually close relationship. The auxiliary electrodes may be disposed on the surfaces of nonconductive supports so as to form a macroporous mixed filler layer between the main electrodes. Control of the electrochemical reactions is achieved through the choice of electrocatalytic materials on the surfaces of the auxiliary electrodes and materials dissolved in the fluid to be treated.
